At first, I thought it was a fluke, but the seventh Chaos Emerald being found is explained in the storyline, (I think it might have been explained in-depth in the American comic series) which would also explain why there is no Super Sonic in Sonic 1.

I used to like this game, but ever since I got introduced to more extravagant versions of Sonic like Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles, more and more I just drifted away from this. Still, there are some like Sonic Triple Trouble that I like.

Heh thanks. Yeah I personally think Mecha Sonic was his greatest creation of robotic doubles. Not only is he completely obedient, (unlike Metal Sonic) but he's capable of channeling the power of the Master Emerald.

I favor the Archie version because it happens to look more complex than what the game presents. That, and because there's really no official artwork of Mecha Sonic beyond sprites. So, the best depiction would be Archie for that.

Heh good thing ^_^ As far as the issue, I've merely seen pictures of it here and there; but that's because I don't read the comics. I like the video game universe the best to be honest. Simple, yet effective. Although, it's nothing against the comic universe. It's just what I prefer.

I would have loved to see that fight though. I bet it was epic.

Yeah, the fight was pretty sweet. But I agree, the video game universe has a better plot line (simple and to the point), though the comics weren't bad. I stopped reading them a while ago though.

My Dad got me a few when I was younger, but I didn't bother buying any myself. He got me an issue of the Death Egg Saga, and some others I can't for the life of me remember. Yeah, somehow the video game universe just seems to work out more. I just wish they had made an anime that fits it to a T, and doesn't do a bad job of it (see Sonic X for example). Which is why I am also a rather huge fan of the Sonic The Hedgehog movie. That's the direction in which a show like Sonic X should have gone.

The thing is that the SMS really could've competed with the SNES from what I've seen. It was graphically and musically superior to the NES, the NES's advantage was the contracts they got. In many ways the Genesis wasn't a step up, just a small step forward.

In the Game Gear version of this game, they made the Chaos Emerald for the Labyrnith Zone easier to get. It is by the left of the goal. It's not a challenge to get it.

Oh heres something - in the Jungle Zone there is a platform in GG version, so you just jump down and dont wait for the log

and in the lybrinth zone- the invincibility area is still underwater. you are quicker just going up the steps because breath runs out

In Labrenth Zone those spikes aren't there- you go up the stairs and the emerald is on the left at the top
