@2010CamaroSS2man It has a filter, exhaust, and a steeda pulley, which at the most will get you an extra 12 hp. Exhaust might get you 25 hp. And not to mention the c63 has a 6.2l V8 while the cobra has a 4.6l, and has almost 50 more hp from factory over the cobra. Ford ftmfw.

My brother has an 03 cobra with exhaust, making 12 lbs, and k&n filter and ported heads. he made 440. so, i based his on this one, but i reduced it alot with the heads. probably reduced it too much. you are probably right though. around 37 hp after stock is probably wrong. its probably more than that.

@gsxrful Actually the newest Ford produces about 82 hp per liter in the 5.0 with a tune it gets closer to 85. I don't think anyone will debate the Mercedes is a better car to cruise in but for the accelertion and feel of driving the Cobra is much better IMHO.

The C63's are monsters up top. The Cobra cut off at the point where he would have started losing ground. @ProPainC63 why are you complaining about stock vs modded? the cobra is rated for 390HP stock while the C63 is at 451HP stock, and weighs 15lbs less than the cobra. Coupled w/ a 7 speed close ratio auto transmission that shifts like a bat out of hell, (I know, I test drove a C63 @ MB of Beorne) it would have walked the cobra. But thats why you pay 60k for that car and 33k for a cobra. Its just like the SMG M5, its a top end monster

The Cobra is 300+ pounds LIGHTER than the C63. Now take that Cobra a mod it like the one in this video. You are now racing a 4000+ pound STOCK Mercedes with 451HP vs a 3700lb Cobra with 550+ HP. The funny part is the Cobra barely won and they didnt even finish the 1/4. :)

Again street racing doesnt care if youre stock or modded. For every tuned bloton + spray C63 there is, theres a whipple cobra, KB cobra, or like mine, a 2.9L whipple cobra on big boost with a built MMR bottom end w/ heads and cams. Wanna play, then mod up. That goes for any car in general when talking about racing.

I think you mixed your facts up where ford claimed 390 on the 03/04 cobras, and they actually ended up having nearly that at the wheels when people dynoed them stock. Most people think it was for insurance reasons but who knows why they underrated them from the factory.

I will forgive you for that misstep, as you DO NOT own the car. So aside from that, the BULK OF THE POWER GAINS FROM THE MODS come from the sct tuner, steeda pulley and KN filter. All motor with no boost. Try that with the Cobra.

@2010CamaroSS2man It has a filter, exhaust, and a steeda pulley, which at the most will get you an extra 12 hp. Exhaust might get you 25 hp. And not to mention the c63 has a 6.2l V8 while the cobra has a 4.6l, and has almost 50 more hp from factory over the cobra. Ford ftmfw.

My brother has an 03 cobra with exhaust, making 12 lbs, and k&n filter and ported heads. he made 440. so, i based his on this one, but i reduced it alot with the heads. probably reduced it too much. you are probably right though. around 37 hp after stock is probably wrong. its probably more than that.

@gsxrful Actually the newest Ford produces about 82 hp per liter in the 5.0 with a tune it gets closer to 85. I don't think anyone will debate the Mercedes is a better car to cruise in but for the accelertion and feel of driving the Cobra is much better IMHO.
I can afford a c63 but not sure telling someone they can't afford one has any bearing on which one is faster? Most Cobra drivers don't care about Sat Nav, brushed aluminum or fine leather stitching so not really a good point.

@ProPainC63 why are you complaining about stock vs modded? the cobra is rated for 390HP stock while the C63 is at 451HP stock, and weighs 15lbs less than the cobra. Coupled w/ a 7 speed close ratio auto transmission that shifts like a bat out of hell, (I know, I test drove a C63 @ MB of Beorne) it would have walked the cobra. But thats why you pay 60k for that car and 33k for a cobra. Its just like the SMG M5, its a top end monster
And that aside, its street racing, its "run what you brung."

@edmundnlemadim You would have a point if the Cobra the C63 was running was stock. You would also do well to educate yourself on the C63. The C63's curb weight is 4000+. The Cobra is 3700. The Cobra is 300+ pounds LIGHTER than the C63. Now take that Cobra a mod it like the one in this video. You are now racing a 4000+ pound STOCK Mercedes with 451HP vs a 3700lb Cobra with 550+ HP. The funny part is the Cobra barely won and they didnt even finish the 1/4. :)

@ProPainC63 Mercedes website says youre full of shit about the curb weight. Unless youre lying or they are lying, the curb weight is 3649lbs. Manufacturer claim. The 03 cobra is 3665. Again street racing doesnt care if youre stock or modded. For every tuned bloton + spray C63 there is, theres a whipple cobra, KB cobra, or like mine, a 2.9L whipple cobra on big boost with a built MMR bottom end w/ heads and cams. Wanna play, then mod up. That goes for any car in general when talking about racing.

I like to just use reality rather than debate something MB wrote on their website or manual. Ford had a little run in 1999 when they over rated their HP on their Cobra. Said it was 420 and It was really 390 or something. I forget. I never trust what these people say. Reality rules.MB drivers make up more of the mature base drivers. We have no patience for kids with cheap cars. Sorry.

@ProPainC63 You must not know anything about mustangs. In 99 they had much less that 390 as they were N/A. I think you mixed your facts up where ford claimed 390 on the 03/04 cobras, and they actually ended up having nearly that at the wheels when people dynoed them stock. Most people think it was for insurance reasons but who knows why they underrated them from the factory.

SMG, DCT no question the auto is better. Even a slush box is better than a manual outside of the launches. @ProPainC63 If you knew better, you would know that since the eaton is displacement limited, Cobras do not gain alot on the LT headers, as the eaton aids in exhaust scavenging thru the stock headers; their gains are best realized on a twin screw combo, where more airflow is required. I will forgive you for that misstep, as you DO NOT own the car. So aside from that, the BULK OF THE POWER GAINS FROM THE MODS come from the sct tuner, steeda pulley and KN filter. If we start talking mod for mod then yes currently the Cobra would be able to get more power cheaper and post better ET's. No question. NA with a small shot the C63 is posting a 10.4. All motor with no boost. Try that with the Cobra.

The C63 wakes up after 80 MPH. You can see the difference in the roll race. AND THE C63 IS STOCK!! Do the same mod's to the C63 and its in the 10's. That Cobra will NEVER see 10's. The Cobra is a fast car for what it is. A cheap American muscle car. But its no even close to the same class as the C63. Dope!

In a 3,649lb mercedes with 451 hp, 150lbs isnt going to make a 2 car length difference like youre claiming. without the passenger it makes 8.09 lbs/hp, with the passenger it makes 8.42 lbs/hp. If YOU know anything about cars, thats not a big difference. 3). Nobody races to 150 they race 1/4's. and this car goes through the 1/4 at 114mph, a STOCK cobra does it at 110, so THIS cobra would have destroyed it regardless.
