The Brazilian Santos Dumont is the real airplane inventor. 14 Bis was the first real airplane, that took off without help of a catapulte.

@rodriguezia Let's see...Wright Flyer (1903) could make controlled turns, fly in circles, carry a passenger, fly beyond one minute, and fly over trees and buildings. 14 Bis (1906) could do NONE of those things despite being built three years later. It did have wheels though, so I guess you think that supersedes all other aspects of aeronautics. It's really sad when pathetic jingoists like yourself won't give credit where credit is due.

I went to Kitty Hawk once. I have family in North Carolina, so we went there and did some gliding. I didn't stay in the air long, because I couldn't resist looking down as I was going. It's really something else.
