I played this CD (one of the 1st CDs I ever bought) until it would not play no more...I wore it out!!! I can listen to some of these songs now and close my eyes and immediately go back to that time in my life in 1985/1986 in Myrtle Beach.
Ive got bad tinnitus in both ears cuz I listened to this & other classic albums on a walkman in the 80s. This awesome album in particular. No hard feelings though was worth it!!! Amazing album still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
masterpiece,s simple minds! besides oh jungleland one of my favourites of that album. Impressive, amazing, outbreathing the final symphony of the songs with choirs, all the instruments combined pacifically in tuning in.Touching and thrilling! :,-8
simple minds is not simple but rather technical for such kind of music ..the bass players were all great, mel gaynor is a hell of a firecracker talented drummer, keybords rich sound and charlie unusuall guitar play make bands like U2 and other girly shity bands a piece of shit in front of the talented minds od simple minds! end of story...
@human20freedom You are a total twonk. If U2 are that shit, how come they have been going for 34 years? You have no idea what you are talking about mate...
I remember asking my sister to send me this tape when I was in Haiti for Operation Restore Democracy, while stationed in the Army. I couldn't believe how many great songs were on this tape, I think I wore the tape out. A great eighties band that had tremendous talent and were on the cutting edge of innovative music. Awesome eighties!!!!!
Someone has stolen the 80s music i want it back fuck in hell i found absoluteley impossible to listen music this days no talent lots of noise nothing out there . Simple minds along with many more bands have created the best music of the century . Fancy call your self simple minds and create this master piece of music i think today bands should be called simple minds because they are fucking simple in there heads do , haw luky to be there on those days , happy days the eightees
@MrTrecchina I pity the present generation, the generation of the "disposable". Cell phones, computers, cars, friendships, loves, values, all disposable. The present generation has everything that 80's generation hadn't. And the 80's generation has everything that the present generation hasn't. Starting with the music.
@marrio17you I agree 1000% and might I add the best memories...I was in high school 1982--1986 and wouldn't trade that time for anything; Molly Ringwald, Madonna, Boy George, Duran, Annie Lennox, Frankie GTH, Depeche Mode, Back to the Future, Dynasty..I could go on all night..thanks for the upload
@MrTrecchina Simple Minds , Level 42 , U2 , Yazoo , Depeche Mode , Human League , Even Adam and the Ants..... Paul Young , Duran Duran, Nik Kershaw , Howard Jones can go on all night..... Real music, the 80's was the best....
@MrTrecchina thanks drummo 777 i know we have been very luky to live on those days but sometimes i also thinking this young generation are our children so what blody hell happen what we have done wromg to create this kind of kids they are listen some shit music the things his .More they get more they hate you maybe it his our foult never mind
This is the song that makes the whole album complete.
The 80's had some real shit music attached to it too - gay uprisings - a grocers daughter goes to war & destroys the coal mining industry & makes the peasants pay 5 times more what rates were etc etc...
The current generation have a great life now as we did then. Stop being so negative otherwise we will go back to the 2 generations that suffered war. The music & morals back then were truly fantastic whilst most of the people half starved.
@MrTrecchina Live them out in your mind every day!! The 80's can NEVER DIE!! It was the most widely explosive, creative, and dynamic decade of music, of that or ANY century. The 80'S & "Simple Minds" WILL LIVE FOREVER IN US!!
yes, like marrio17you says, it takes you back to another place , another time. 1985-86, what great times! i was 20 years old then and as they say, the world was my oyster. the music today is crap compared to songs like this.
"TheDirtvader" I agree with you completely...the music today is shite. I'm 17 but I actually listen to proper music...THIS IS MUSIC. Not crappy Drum N Bass or pop...
When I first ordered this album online I thought it was a compilation of the groups greatest hits (I thought it was the Glittering Prize Album for some reason) but I got this by my mistake. What a great album-all the tracks-it takes u to another time and place-tracks like Oh Jungleland and this one are some of the great tracks.
@marrio17you Not slating this album, but to me, this is one of their most, probably due to it's high manufactured and stadium rock sound. I love their much earlier stuff, although adore the Real Life album too. However, great taste in music and SM are amazing.
@monroeboy80 hi one of my favs albums oh jun what a class song ..picked this on record in a charity shop in southampton ..a side is this the other side is gst dansing bliss songs ..

One of the best songs of Simple Minds, though not as well known as others. The whole album is one of the masterpieces in pop music history.
