  • I also know SSgt Alva, he and I were in the same platoon 3rd LAI Bn, H&S Co, Supply

  • Hey devil dog... How you like Obamy now? Oh btw, this is Myers! Obama has screwed this nation big time! Massive deficit under his watch, and now were involved in a 3rd conflict....

  • I knew SSGT Alva

he was supply chief w battalion 3/7

    I was w 3/4

I had no idea he was gay

  • My name is James Stutts, and I served with SSgt. Alva from 1996-1998 with HMH-769. We all knew that he was gay, but it wasn't anything we ever felt the need to talk about. He did his job, and was a good Marine. At the end of the day that is what matters. I do not support Obama. I believe that he is a progressive socialist. However, I do support the repeal of DADT. I believe that gay service members, like straight ones will keep their private lives private. If they don't the UCMJ will fix that.

  • I don't support Obama but your brave, someday GLBT will be treated equally. Yer a stud!

  • im sorry i am in the marine corps and am stationed at campen .. i dont support being openly gay in the military.. keep it to urself.. i sacrifice too.. so y should we have it ur way..? and at that change isn't always good.. we all can't have what we want.. but we can have what WE need.. god bless and thank for serving

  • I just came across this video and it really touched me. I thank you for all you have done and still are doing! You have my total respect for fighting for what is right because it is something that you didn't have to do but you stood up and did it anyway. To that I salute you and send you good wishes for the future!

    Take care and stay safe!

  • faggot

  • Thanks, SSgt Eric Alva. Thank you for everything you do and bringing the gay issue infront of the American people so they can understand that regardless of sex, sexual orientation, ethnicity, region, we all serve for one purpose to protect the United States of America and defended against foreign/domestic enemies. I am currently serving in the Marines and you truly are my hero. You live up to our core values. Thanks again and Semper Fidelis

  • sexy marines!!!!

  • I had the honor of meeting you once at the luggage carousel of the San Antonio International Airport. I still think that what you are doing for gay and lesbian Americans is a wonderful thing. Thanks for everything that you do.

  • Thank you for your service! I served in Iraq this past summer, I was a corpsman. Thank you for your service, you have all my respect!! Thank you hero!

  • Thank you Eric, for being willing to fight for what you believe in, not just among strangers on foreign soil, but also at home, where the pain can be worse because it's from those who should be honoring your courage and sacrifice, rather than offering derision simply because you are gay. It is ridiculous, that 'Don't ask, don't tell' is still in effect, that our men and women are not only being asked to give their lives in service, but also to hide who they truly are.

  • Dear Eric,

My deepest respect. I hope your message and story will help to bring change this country in an area where it needs it (and BO/JB will do the rest)

I am not gay but I do not see why being black or white, being male or female, christian or muslim, etcetc, or why being gay or straigt should make any difference in what respect you earn, money you earn, what career chances you have - in the army, too.

Hope your sacrifice and our eyes being opened will reduce the shame we should feel...

  • Thank you so much for your sacrifice. We all have to fight for freedom here in the States. Freedom to love anyone, anywhere, and anytime. We are all Americans at the end of the day. That is what drives my life and morals, not "Don't Ask, Don'y Tell" B... S...! I'm a catholic girl, but that does not mean that everyone has to be like me or you. We need relearn how to live each other better. Obama will do that, and he will make it happen by completly eliminate that stupid law. OBAMA '08

  • God bless you Eric and I hope this pointless discrimination ends soon! You should be able to serve your country no matter who you are...Obama '08!

  • I am one of the thousnds who had this YouTube video forwarded to from Obama's campaign site. God Bless you for what you've fought for, and what you continue to fight for.

    Vote Obama/Biden '08!

  • Thank you Eric !

  • Thank you, Eric, for your courage on more than one front.

  • Thank you, Eric, for your courage on more than one front. Wishing you the best.

  • Thank you Eric, for standing up for what you believe in, despite the suffering you had to endure. I hope this country can repay you during the coming elections, for everything you have given it.
