Rory's original Strat did have a tremelo but he'd broken it off and part was still lodged in the cavity. It's a great remake but would i be willing to pay 2 or 3 grand for a distressed, fake model when Rory only paid just over 100 pounds for his? (LOL) Yikes!! But this is a nice video in which that special Fender tone is evident.

Also, one reason to get a guitar this heavily relic'd is for the lack of paint on the body. Notes resonate better and there is more sustain. Although, personally, if I were getting a relic guitar for that reason I would rather make an original design.

I have the duncans california 50s staggered poles in my strat, and a hot rod deluxe 3, do U think the clean channel on a hot rod deluxe is as good as a 65 deluxe reverb reissue, just the clean channel, not so much the vibrato, at first I was tempted to sell my hrd and get a drri, but now the tubes are worn in, it is sounding proper nice and sweet, lots of shimmering glass tones with the presence up and bright engaged, get back asap with your info cheers

By the way the guitar was stolen but then abandoned oddly in a ditch in the rain. The wood was swollen and the nitro..mostly pealed off. Rory oiled it an played it!! Just like the Casino without paint..a Strat sound amazing "naked"!

Alright, I understand that anything coming from the Fender Custom Shop is going to be expensive. Here in Canada, an American Strat goes for at leat 1,000$. Ontop of that, there'll be the 'Custom Shop' increase in value, the fact that it's severely roadworn, and the hardware is top notch...But...What makes it 3,000$?

I don't mind light aging on the sun burst model but this guitar is just nuts. I have seen guitars from 50 years ago that barely have a scratch. Most of Fenders aged guitars are simply unrealistic damaged.

@figaz555 Gallagher's strat has a very good reason why the aging of the guitar is like it is: He himself has said that his sweat was acided that basically "disolved" the finish. Plus the finishes back in the 50's, 60's and early 70's have more of a reputation to "age" more faster than the guitars you get today. But at the end of the day its the way you take care of the guitar and its natural individual environment.
