They respond to fire calls after they meet all the necessary requirements,but they can 't fight actual fires. Their responsibilities are putting up ladders,filling scba's,stretching and packing hose,plus other fireground operations

pretty good. im a fireman in suffolk county. and i came up from the juniors and had my first taxpayer drill at the fire academy and my first house fire my first week, its a real eye opener.

The gear you see is the juniors own gear and 4 sets of new gear is purchased every year to replace old worned out gear.

Honestly you juniors are the luckiest guys when it comes to jr firefighting. I am in bethpage jrs. We do some cool stuff and all but getting to go to germany, repealing off buildings. Thats sick.
