That's all the options you get when running under DX9. Nevertheless it runs the same under DX10. The other option are not important anyway. They real burden comes from AF and AA.

And no i don't use more that 4XAA ever, if that's what you meant. Sorry! Anyway the title specifically underlines that.

Look, i agree that if you want the absolute fastest, then yes Nvidia it is. But dude, lets get's serious. The cost is just too great.Too much money and too much consumption.Also let me remind you that the 4870X2 in CFX (4 gpus) has yet to show it's true scaling. Need i remind you that the 4870X2's sideport remains disabled?

Also the GT200 is 576mm^2 worth of gpu surface, while 2Xrv770 measures 520mm^2. So with less die size ATI manages to beat Nvidia's flagship, by even 100% in some games!

U obviously don't own a 4870X2.. The card is simply amazing. Right now no game really requires 4870X2's in crossfire. Ati has really stepped up their game this year.

its called using less stream processors, basicaly less hardware and on top of that, they will start adding the 55nm to most of their cards now and i know ati did it first, but nvidia has always found out a way to win with little resources...

How does Nvidia win ? Did u personally benchmark both brands ? Did u buy or use each model and test it in every application ? Im pretty sure u didnt do any of the above. All im saying is that both brands r awesome just this year Ati has come up with more better n cost effective cards.

have you not looked through the last comments i have said? nvidia wins because they have the fastest most SINGLE GPU ever and to make the 4870 x2 better than the gtx 280, you have to put it in crossfire so of course dual gpu beats single gpu but when you put 3 gtx 280's together against 2 4870x2's the gtx 280's still win...

You can't have good scaling with more than 2 GPUs with the current technology. Three 4870X2 would have six GPUs, so the performance will be awful.One is enough! ;)

no you would need about 1600w but since they really base games around Nvidia's architecture, 3 way sli is 2.84X better than a single card which is good enough for me... (3 9800 GTX+'s in 3 way sli soon...)

Well judging by the benchmarks floating the web, i didn't see BIOSHOCK, CONAN, CALL OF JUAREZ and many other, being THAT "Nvidia friendly".

The 4870 kicks the GTX 260 in the butt and the GTX 280 vs the 4870X2 is a comedy by itself!

My 4850 gives 61.057fps at 1920X1080 4XAA while my 4870X2 gives 90.522 at the same resolution, measured with fraps.

Are you sure you get 55-60fps on a single 8800GT? 55-60fps does not seem like an accurate measurement. Did you bench with fraps? Not to mention that the 4850 beats GTX 260 in Grid let alone the 8800GT. See techreports review. Youtube does not leave me to post the link! WTF???!!

Anyway i think you would be better off with a second 8800GT. No need to spend so much money! ;)

why u have the reflection on medium?

I put it on high and when the game is restarted it defaults to medium by itself. I don't know why this is happening. The same happens for both my 4850 and my 4870X2 and i'm using GRID version 1.2 with latest drivers.

I am still testing it. There are some childhood ilnesses though. Fear not. They will be fixed. Flat out Ultimate Carnage and Grid, only play well under Vista64 with Catalyst 8.8. Vista32 and Xp, give out about 30fps. Obviously ATI prioritised the 64bit OS, which is very interesting to say the least.

46bit is better if u have 2 g card and 4 g or 2 g in ram 32bit only sees 3.5g so if u have more then 4 its going to run slower then 64bit witch can 16g or more

The lagging of Flat out or any other game is not a matter of RAM. I still have 2.58GBs available under 32bit OSes.

I found out that "problematic" games run better in XP if i disable Catalyst AI. Meaning one core is disabled, meaning the driver needs fixing.;)
