  • super fantastic marvellous . just wat i was lookin for :)

  • very tasty. did my own twist on it but my mom who is recovering from cancer (and hates all food right now) kept picking at it saying it was pretty good. so thank you for making a simple to make recipe that i can whip up to give her some more protein for recovery :)

  • @wolfkikyo : Wish her speedy recovery from us :) And kudos to you for being such a sweet daughter - your Mom is lucky to have you - Love from us.

  • This looks so good! So simple & easy. I think I need a non-stick skillet because whenever I saute tofu, it ends up crumbling and sticking to the pan.

  • SAMBAL......there is alot of kind of sambal in my country.......LOL.it's a combination of chilli n some spices, n we call it SAMBAL.........mmmmm,looks delicious.

  • What is the name of that Chili Sauce? Sounds like you said "Samba" Am I correct?

    Thank You

  • @ChowHallCommando : "Sambal" :)

  • Thank you so much, I cooked in your way and I LOVE IT :-))))))

  • In place of sambal to make tofu spicy u also can add tobanjan. Really nice & tempting

Tobanjan is available in Asian stores.

  • The future of the internet must be something where you can log on and they will cook a dish on youtube and feed you out of your monitor. Because this is all just a tease. Now i'm hungry and the store is closed.

  • Thanks. Good tip on adding tofu later for stir fry. You solved my problem why my tofu taste so bland. Cook it b4!

  • HI is Hetal single she is hot i love to kn her as i think she is very very cute

  • Thanks. I wanna try it.

  • @macaulaycarsonculkin

Firm or Extra Firm works the best.

  • @macaulaycarsonculkin they actualy did say the kind they needed

  • @macaulaycarsonculkin

LoL it was said at around 0:24.

  • @macaulaycarsonculkin Yes they did and they also said it was very important that you use firm or extra firm

  • @macaulaycarsonculkin She said Extra Firm Tofu at :22

  • Hey, I'd love to try this, but I'm not to keen on spicy foods. Is there anything I could substitute the chili sauce for?

  • Comment removed

  • @PegasonBloom

Sorry for the late response...you could try to add minced ginger and garlic to the soy sauce before adding it. They will flavor the tofu without the spice.

  • @PegasonBloom You could try a honey garlic sauce instead of the soy and chili sauce, or even just stir fry the tofu and make a gravy like swedish meatballs.

  • yumm! we make this all the time at my house its delicious! but we dont make it as an appetizer. we cook it up and eat it with rice ^.^

  • How many servings does this make?

  • @Sternschnuppen85 : If you serve it as an appetizer...a party of 6 - 8

  • Great video. You ladies did a great job and I'm gonna try this! :]

  • from what country is this recipy? jap?

  • Looks Yummy!!

  • is this the same as sambal olek?

  • @37mamak : yes, it is :)

  • yum

    using braggs is also good

  • instead of the sambal, can I use a very thick hot sauce? It's pasty kinda? Would that work ;o?

  • Nice ,simple, fast and healthy receipe

  • soy sauce is icky (sorry). is there anything else that I could use?

  • @adoodledbubble

You can leave it out and use regular salt (assuming you are still going to use the chili sauce).

  • The right side girl (lady!) is looking good

  • @police04 would u do her?

  • I love vegetarian dishes. That is the very reason I like Japanese and Indian food so much! Thanks for posting.

  • Don't give that to a white man :P He'd be in a lot of pain lol

  • I will definitely try this! :)

  • those chicks were hot. good tip thanx for showing to be not aggresive when sauteing , nice vid

  • I'm going to try this today.

  • Looks good, and very simple to do. Awesome!

  • there is some accent in this video

  • Here is used Tofu not Soy bean curd. Soy bean curd is the thin layer on top of the Soy Milk while cooking.

This receipe ist just panfried tofu!

  • looks sooooooo good. :)

  • what does tofu taste like? i've had it before but i always see it in supermarkets and i'm not sure

  • On it's own, tofu has a very little flavor. The sauces or spices you add really flavor it. It is more for texture (and protein). Different types of tofu (silken, soft, firm, extra firm) are used for different recipes.

  • Bascially nothing. Tastes as you season it.... ;P

  • @ShaxDr87

Paneer tastes like nothing. Tofu has a subtle "beany" taste. Which I find very annoying. Even though it is subtle, it is still detectable even after seasoning.

  • Maybe! you don't have to eat it you know :) that's the great thing.

  • @ShaxDr87

Well no duh. I was just telling u that it has a taste. Thats all :)

  • Duh urself ;p

  • @ShaxDr87

Wow u have problems. Forget I even bothered trying to inform you. Your just 1 of those ppl who get offended when some1 points out something and don't try hide that fact with emoticons.

I m not replying back to this anymore, it's stupid getting offended over tofu. Get a life u immature ref.

  • Too long. Did not read.

  • lol that whole little convo was hilarious. nworb is clearly overly sensitive and childish. but hilarious all at the same time. nothing you said made you sound offended!

im vegan and i love tofu!! yay tofu :]

  • Basically nothing, but If you eat it cold out of the package, it's not too great. Not something that you can eat a whole lot of. But when it's cooked with something, or seasoned, you can make it taste practically any way you want. :)

  • @iyanasan2

Tofu you can buy in america or europe is more like cottage cheese in taste, pretty bland with a very light flavour of soy bean.

For a first try i would recommend high quality organic smoked tofu or eating tofu at a good asian restaurant.

If you have the opportunity to visit japan there are small tofu manufactures which serve meals with the fresh made tofu.

You can taste different tofu which you never will get outside of japan because it is so delicate and is only served fresh

  • Thank you ^_^

  • Mmm.......This will be tasty and good for my health too!

  • Not to mention cheap! 12 ounces of tofu is a dollar sixty in my supermarket, while the calrorie-equivalent 6 ounces of beef costs just under three bucks.

  • ya tofu da beast, though i still like beef I have completely stopped eating processed meat.

  • I made this last night and put it on top of stir-fry. It was a excellent! Thank you so much.

  • could i put this on pasta?

  • It has a very "asian" taste so it may not go well with pasta (unless you do an asian version of pasta).

  • hi @nuj@ & het@l

wt is tofu, i hv no ide@

  • Tofu is also known as soy bean curd.

  • Tofu <33333

  • Thanks for the video! If you were to cook vegetables to go with this, would you cook them in the same pan (at the same time?) or would you cook them separately and add the stir-fry vegies later?

  • Definitely cook the veggies and tofu separately. The tofu takes a considerably longer time to brown so your veggies will be overcooked by then and the juices from the veggies will prevent the tofu from browning. You can start with the tofu, pull it out and use the same pan for the veggies. Just add the tofu back in at the end.

  • Ok thanks :)

  • In Japan we call it Agedashi Tofu. The cubes are dipped in a cornstarch & water batter before it is fried. The the cubes are served with soy sauce, fresh ground ginger & chopped green onions.

  • awesome thank you !!!

  • hi anuja & hetal

What else can u use sambal in which country cusine it is used in thanks gr8 work....

  • Sambal is just a basic chinese chili sauce. It is delicious as a dipping sauce for eggrolls and works well in stri-frys. We even use it as a spread for our sandwiches. It is pretty spicy so you have to be careful with it.

  • doesn't it need salt?

  • The soy sauce takes care of the salt.

  • This looks absolutely delicious! Thank you! :)

  • i think they are cutting the tofu the wrong way. theres something my father taught me about tofu... u must use the reverse edge of the knife... or so he says. btw im japanese XD

  • its not weird. its cause they're not using the commonly used silken tofu. its more coarse. called the "tau gua" in hokkien. in english im not really sure. but its more firm and therefore can be stir fried compared to silken tofu which is commonly used for boiling or steaming.

  • Off-Topic: How about a show devoted to show-and-tell of various Indian vegetable/fruits? I have access to much (tindora, cluster beans, long beans, drumstick, lauki, snake gourd, chayote, etc.) and have no idea how to deal with each. I bought a bitter melon and left the seeds in. Bitter!!! I know it is bitter by nature, but those seeds were downright nasty. Then I bought drumstick and had the darnedest time chewing on the sticks that run in the skin.

    Can you help?

  • Interesting suggestion.....we usually try to tell about each fruit/vegetable while we are using it -- though not all in one show :).

  • yummmmmmmmmmm!

  • I'm trying this tonight! It's look delish. Thanks ladies!

  • what kind of sambal did you use? i only have the ulek kind here.

  • Sambal Olek or Chili Garlic variety both work well in this recipe.

  • thanks :)
