Hard to picture if you never seen one. But imagine a bunch of pyramid like shapes on the bottom of this vehicle. Solid steel and then something like that can deflect quite a lot. But nobody listens to strange people like me on random comments XD

The government only cares about money. Thus if the soldiers pay is cheaper than the vehicle. Guess who gets blown up? =P

@schizoidboy Yes, South Africans have pioneered this type of vehicle. Then in early 2000s, South African engineers have designed more of those for US. Then everyone else have picked up the trend.

@schizoidboy These vehicles actually are very repairable and survivable (although larger bombs and EFPs seem to be coming up. The only reason they look destroyable and bulky is due to the large outside containers that are stored on the vehicle. They appear to be a part of the vehicle but in reality are merely add ons that are very replaceable too. The entire vehicle is modular so that if one area of the vehicle is a complete loss, a new are of the vehicle can be ordered and it can be salvaged.
