I dunno, i mean it might be due to market share.. but then since there are so many mac haters out there, people should have made some. It might just be because mac anti-virus software is better..
Actually, to date, Mac OS X (all versions from 10.0 up to 10.6) have had ZERO viruses. None. Nada. Zilch. Not a single one. Sorry, it's just the truth and if you think otherwise, point out any single ACTUAL virus that has infected Mac OS X in the last 9 years. Go ahead, give it your best shot.
macs get viruses, my bass teacher is a mac user and he thought macs dont get viruses but i explained how then do and he was pretty upset after he was knocked off the high and mighty mac pedestal
then why would apple recommend antivirus? OS x is a unix based OS like linux, they are alot more secure and better against viruses than windows but they still get them, thats why its good to have antivirus if you're going on non-trusted sites to protect from the few mac viruses. also, trojans are fairly common in OS x because they are disguised as something you want to download but its really a virus.
Yeah, this is a bit of misguided advertising. Since it is due to the market share, aka, not everyone cares as they are not that many apples as there are PC's to bother. Not because Apple computers never get viruses.
