Yeah, it doesn't matter. In my experience when you buy an old T8 or P5, you get 30 year old electronics, but if you buy this Prophet it's not only brand new, it's also more stable, AND it's an analog polysynth. With a price tag a lot less than it's older brothers.
@smackyjack Hey nice ..if you had a chance to play the real thing!..The preset T8 sound in the Prophet 08 is much different than my take...it had allot of drifting/detuned oscillator effect
@djomercohen yeah I know what you mean...there is alot of power in analog synths..taking a different approach to music is an inspiration to some...check out my latest video of the Korg M3...it has around 120 voices...kind of balances things out ...:-)
This sounds amazing. I really think this synth can get VERY close to those vintage classics - probably only slightly off because of component changes over the years. Thanks for posting this!

I've got me a prophet 08, very nice machine....now I needs to get me a blue dinosaur to go with it!! Of course one of these days I am going to get an Alesis Andromeda A6 and all will be right with the world!
@ultimatenerd22 interesting question...I have read that the T8 was Sequentials finest synth..never really thot to compare it to the Pro08..The 08 has some sounds that are emulatiions of the Prophet 5 , the T8 & others ,in a lightweight, portable, price friendly format!
yea Bob!...the prophet is a complete synths that is masked by its patch/banks!.... you can fully create a complete different instrument of it!.... love it every day!.... by the way!
@CouldBeFarAway hi Stefan ..thanks for listening...I believe you are correct about the trumpet (touch of brass sound) it was a bit rushed since I have been improvising around these chords for a long time..a very condensed version for youtube..
you wouldnt be able to demo the organ and piano presets would ya?
