@WebkinzParty2002 maybe google something like "sexing hamster" to look for pictures? if your hamster's still scared of you try to lure it to your hand or somewhere with food and gently grab it with a towel to check its sex.. hope that helped!

@spongebobisc it is me. and the cage is not hard to clean. all you do is take the platforms out (its not glued. its supported by sticks) and dump the whole thing out. Take some 409 and rinse. :) easy peasy.

@tealroxxs192 - Well, the father will help the mother take care of the babies and the mother. Bringing food, all that. But sometimes the father will kill the babies. So, if you want to leave the male in the cage, just know there is a risk of the babies being killed. But sometimes the mother will kill the babies too, so you still have to be careful even with the male out.

@xxiiROCK yes the fathers may kill the babies but the mom will never kil lthe babies unless she thinks she cant take care of thatm uch or the baby is sick or too weak to survive its a natural instinct but the dad doesnt really care and if it does kill some i dont know hy lol

@MrHamsterify nope. Boo is a great breeder hamster. He sweet talks the female hamsters I have and has pregnanted Sapphire 3 times and Pearl just gave a litter of 6. Boo does well as a breeder male making 6+ babies per clutch

I'm thinking about getting 2 hamsters soon (not for breeding) and I have this huge wire cage, I know glass is better, but it's HUGE (like double the size of your tank, and I might rig it to have glass walls) anyway I have a few questions and I figure you're the best person to ask!

I really want to get 2 females, I just want them friendly, should I get robo or winter white? will they be ok together?

@HeroFlame Never put two different breeds into the same cage. they will fight. (i've tried it. Robo's are much more active and will kill the WW) I think you should get a winter white because they are easier to hold. Robos will not sit still. They were born to run and they will.

@HeroFlame I dont live in Las Vegas but if you go to PETSMART (not petco, because they rarely have them) they might have it. Winter Whites are seasonal so you may even have to wait a while. If you ever plan a trip to the BAY AREA, CA then I would love to give you a tame baby winter white for free. (Mine just had 6 babies ^^) But yeah.. the only way you can tell the gender at stores is if they tell you. They probably wont let you check yourself though

That why went and got another robo and put in the cage because i want to have the mate.
