  • Remember seeing these guys supporting Status Quo way back in the late 80's I think. They were truly ghastly!!!!!! Then again, it might've been the sound systems. having come across them again on YouTube, my opinion has completely changed. Great fun band. Did they do a cover of Route 66 at some point? I'd imagine it would have made a good cover.

  • Brilliant band. Remember Dumpy trying to chat me up at the bar....Gah!

  • Saw these guys at Bidds in Longton, back when I was too young to be a biker yet.

    Ace band :D

  • Remember a welsh band called MadDog supporting them in the Marquee. Now THEY kicked ass!

  • Totally legends... Saw em loads with Hawkwind and Motorhead. Always met Dumpy in the bar at the Odeon he was a fixture..

  • remember seeing these in the start of the 80s in kings lynn norfolk. brings back memories

  • Excellent! A cup o splodge and a greasy dog :-))

  • Saw them in about 86/87 with Motorhead and a Japanese band, Vow Wow I think it was, they were absolutely brilliant, walked on in the dark with luminous eyes, is all you could see was the 6 eyes until they kicked off, one of the most entertaining bands I have seen for sure. Still have the ECT show on video somewhere, and I think it was Spider who were on with them, not quite the impact Venom had on the studio but Dumpy is bloody good live, great fun!

  • went to watch these years ago , they was just as bad then ..

  • Moonstomp, It's called Just for Kicks and can be found on their 'Somewhere in England' album

  • Can sombody tell me the name of the song what has these lyrics " If theres one thing that I like its a ???? Motorbike.... a ??? motor bike is what i like" Does that mean anything to anybody? I dont know many of the words or the song title but I once heard it when I was a kid and i'm sure it was sung by this bloke.

  • @MOONST0MP sounds like the song Just For Kicks by DRN.

  • Been a fan of DRN for 27 years. and they still deliver a fugging awsome live show

  • I saw them in 1984 in london

wish i still had one of the t shirts :(

  • This was back in the days when Box Hill was still THE place to go if you were a biker.......... If you know what I mean? RD's Z1's T140's and proper Harleys and chops. Dahn the Charter on a Friday night, The Dolphin during the week and banging your head 'til it fell off! And the WOMEN! Off to lie down now............................

  • @replica1919 Do I remember this or wot, saw them live @ The Red Lion, Brentford, 20 odd years ago. Wonder were thay got too. And as for the WOMEN! well I married one.

  • Excellent! I never got to see them, but read about them all the time in Record Mirror - how wonderful YouTube is for giving us access to this sort of thing!

  • @edforcer

Someone else who remembers Engine! How about Spider?

  • I have Spider's Rock 'n Roll Gypsy single (it's a 2-7" pack). Great stuff.

  • I have both officially released Spider albums and the 3rd one that never was actually released by A&M, but I found it in a bargain bin in the early 90s! Also I have the Amazing Grace medley which was given away with the 1st single from the 1st album.

  • First saw these at the Kent Custom, early 80s.

DRNs and Engine were bleedin triffik!

  • my ears are still ringing from DRN at The Half Moon 3 days ago.........the're better than ever! Cheers Dumpy!

  • looks like the lion out of the wizzard of oz the fuckin weirdo

  • Dogs B****ks

  • Boxhill....mercifully not too far from me and I've been there on my own bike many times :-)

  • Is that Pete Gill from ex-Motorhead on drums?

  • It's Mark Brabbs, formerly of Tank, unless I'm very much mistaken.

  • By the way..i just remembered , the reason he is wearing makeup here is ,i think because Hawkwind were on the same show and Dave Brock had also put that Egyptian eye thing on..I presume it was (as usual for Dumpy..a pisstake..).AAH MEMORIES!!

  • I went to a couple of ECT's... It was filmed in a studio just off the North Circular in London NW just near to the Harlesden turn off... I went when Venom were on ..they played and then Lee Aaron (remember her?) came on and as she started her bit all off Venom who were on the stage directly opposite her mooned her...so if she looks a bit startled thats why.. saw Warlock..Rogue male ,Warrior and loads more there it was good fun and all free..you just had to turn up and walk in... about 1985..

  • i watched ECT every week when it aired in '85..( i'm 40 now)...these lot blew me away......its dumpys' fault that i bought a bike!!!

  • My band supported DRN a year or two back, worra geezer, Dumpy rocks!!
