I think Emma Thompson acts so well in the second it shows her in this scene, such a mixture of real emotions, heartbroken amusement, grief and affection towards them both.

oh my god. my heart is breaking for this man. I don't know why but Natasha Richardson's death has affected me so much. I think it's because I could see she really, really loved this man. It is so terribly sad that he has to see out the rest of his life without her.
