and wat i mean by seasoned, is a block thats been thru those millions of heating and cooling down cycles.. when you have one acid dipped, magnafluxed, bored and ported, it tempers the cast iron and makes it virtualy impossible to warp it from heat or anything else... i know because my dad has a 72 gremlin with a 350 and its been over 300,000 miles with no trouble....
@cakes1284 LOL....yeah, when I bought my little 93 TA all stock down to the paper filter...it was so underpowered that it turned a 13.55 quarter mile. Whoever it was that told you an LT1 was underpowered from the factory, is an idiot.
i dont like how the ls1's are designed, cuz even some of the simplist repairs can be impossible, like lifters for example, whereas the lt1 u have access thru the valve covers, and with the ls1, you have to take the heads off to get to em. and some lt1's are dirt cheap now, and with a couple simple mods, u can take a stock ls1, the only 2 things i absolutly hate about the lt1 is the opti-spark and the fact that its an cast iron block, :(
@FDallaround dude cast iron blocks are the best.. they are farrr less likely to warp and distort under the millions of heating and cooling cycles unlike the cast aluminum blocks I know this from experience.. the weight saved from going with an aluminum block ,in my opinion, doesnt warrant the problems you WILL eventually encounter.what alot of peeps dont know is, you can take a "seasoned" cast iron block and rebuild it, the whole works, magnafluxed , bored , etc.and it is nearly indestructable..
it says "lt4 cam" in the video...you talking about the lt4 hotcam? that's the next mod i have planned for my car! can't wait to be keeping up with bolt-on ls1's.
are they both 6 speed cars?
