Ha, got a kick out of your comment. The days of this thing going to work are over. It doesn't have to prove anything to no one. It is just a piece of Americana. I will say that I have used a Scout on trails above 10,000 ft with this engine and it never got stuck. 4.10 gearing and a good locker.
wow, now thats sharp!!!! I love everything but the slant 4, that thing wouldnt pull a greased string out of a goats ass, quiet but un deadly. I put a 4bt in mine..... damn, nice build!
@reefveiw Thanks for the reply! Was it from Scout Parts perhaps?
Been looking at them as well, but was just wondering if there were any other choices out there. Heard Model A handles will work as well, but don't want to buy them and find out they won't.
Great job! This used to be my brother-in-laws Scout, I remember what it used to look like in the driveway in GA. Looks amazing! Thanks for keeping it rollin'!
Beautiful!!!! I brought this Scout to Georgia in 2001 from my uncle's farm in KS, Remembering what it looked like then, and what it looks like now it is amazing!! Thank you for keeping this truck alive!
very nice and clean Scout, great job. Where in Florida are you? we have 3 800A in the Orlando area. let us know and maybe we can all do a meet and greet somewhere.
@quilmes I am in the Florida Keys......way down on the bottom......Plantation Key to be exact. If you plan to get down here send me a note.............Ron
The steering is better than I expected it to be. Used a hydroboost from a astro van that works off the steering pump to give me the power brakes. Got it from a Elliott Sydnam who builds these systems for you. You can find him on the net....
is this still available?

Are those the stock exterior door handles? I like the look of those....where did you get them?
orangewhipster 3 months ago
@orangewhipster The door handles were bought of a Scout web dealer, don't remember which one. Very close to original......
