  • jesus christ your password is long :)

  • @josepaul2000 yes and I'm plotting to make it even longer ;-) lol

  • Excelent video as usual. I love your

    videos and your accent.

Would you mind teaching us how to

    use the Transmission to download

    torrent.

    Thank you in advance.

    Mario.

  • @mariopica Thanks Mario I'll look into a tutorial on using Transmission.

  • Good Afternoon,

Thank you very much. I will be waiting excited for it.

    Best regards from Brazil,

    Mário

  • because my "upgrade" from ubuntu 9.04 studio to 9.10 failed i had to reinstall using a cdrom from the scratch. even with a mainboard about 2 years old now it was not able to make my soundcard work "out of the box". HOW SAD IS THAT ?? Now imagine a simple computer user..maybe new to linux and all.. WHAT DO YOU THINK HE MIGHT THINK ABOUT THAT ?? i bet no simple user will ever use linux again the next years because of those critical bugs.. Ubuntu 9.10 IS BAD!!! New users better use Ubuntu 9.04

  • I hate it and I hope they get rid of it. I just installed add/remove (it's still available). BTW your clock is loud!

  • Can you tell me how you installed add/remove please?

  • Go to the software centre and search "add/" and it should be the first on the list.

  • Thanks

  • You can queue up software to install, by going back to the application install and select another one to install. Its a bit clunky, but it does work.

  • @chewit10 yes you're correct, I've tried it and its not so bad now.

  • I've just realised I have no "system tools" category,oh dear.

    Any idea offhand?

  • I seem to always default to using synaptic or apt-get

  • that crap is slow, and that bluevomit background is wack...

    add/remove is still there under

    syst>admin.>

  • I agree but the add/remove is not under system>admin on the final release of Ubuntu 9.10 The synaptic package manager is probably the way to go for a number of program installs.

  • From my use of the new software center the Idea seems like it cam from the software manager from Linux Mint.

  • You may well be quite right, its certainly very similar.

  • user12119 - Windows 7? WTF?!

  • LOL, no wonder it takes at least half an hour for you to install all the programs you want, you have a frakkin 24 digit password you need to type in everytime you want 1 application!!

  • Not quite! I dont close the software centre down when installing the required software thus it doesnt require the repeated input of my password. That being said it still takes considerably longer than the previous add/remove system (with check-boxes).

  • CONFIRMED! That new thing is pure CRAP! Would love to know WHY THE HECK they changed that add/remove programms. IT WAS GOOD! But there are more bugs/problems/features in 9.10 that is a pain in the butt.. Like my Upgrade did not worked well. after a full upgrade desktop runs only bumpy/delayed. another thing is, a new install via CDROM did not recognized my previous ubuntu install and it resized another ntfs partition to make more free space. no good.

  • I've also experienced a lot of problems with this new release of Ubuntu. It seems that a lot of bugs I've reported during the beta and RC releases have been ignored.

  • I guess they figured most people that do multiple installs, either use synaptic or the terminal.

  • I too preferred the old Add/Remove system.

I usually bulk install software via the command line.
