I think it's a shame that Cat didn't get as many episodes focused on him as the others did, but I think it may have balanced things out as he is the least complex character, his vanity and selfishness playing off the others as a good foil. In spite of that I think Danny got some legendary moments in the series, certainly I think he had the funniest justification to the Inquisitor.

to be perfectly serious for just a moment, I'm constantly surprised by how much literary depth is squeezed into what is superficially a fairly puerile britcom. It's not particularly subtle, mind you, but it's certainly there.
Also, I think Red Dwarf runs pretty close to being the funniest thing ever broadcast.
This is the best series of red dwarf. i love the way it's a little dark. It has one poor episode (demons and angels) the others, inquisitor, holoship, terrorforms, back to reality, quarantine, all cast-iron comedy classics.

Seeing "Evil Rimmer" makes me laugh, specially when he says "I'm going to whip you with in and inch of your life ... then I'm going to have you!" Classic!!

One of Rimmer's few serious moments from the TV series. Sometimes you have to feel sorry for the poor schmuck. Of course, the rest of the time you have to laugh at him for being the pathetic weevil he is.
