Good god. That voice is horrible. Personally I had no problems with the SC2 voices, and the Mycon voice was actually pretty good... But THIS... it sounds a bit retarded. Like someone trying to imitate Japanese accent very badly.
The SC2 Mycon voice... I think it sounds a little to human. I do like how it sounds friendly though. The Mycon might BE hostile, but I can imagine how they don't SOUND hostile. Just sort of rambly.
The SC3 voice... it's a bit to slow and droning I think.
I think to be honest many SC races never quite did get a voice how I'd imagine them to sound.
I wonder why they made the Mycon look like a de-stemmed piranha plant sitting on a rock.
They looked more like either a jellyfish (ship captains picture) or a pitcherplant/portugues man'o war type of critter with tendrils in both versions. Either look was cooler and more expressive.
...sigh. Out-of-character use of recycled dialogue aside, the voice acting compares disfavorably to that of Star Control 2's 3DO version, which was much older than SC3. (The latter is - SHAMELESS PLUG - on my video, search for "Overlong Assortment", at around 7:00).
SC3 Mycons sound like someone trying imitate a mysterious enigma of an alien. SC2 Mycons sound like a mysterious enigma of an alien. Bonus points for turning Precursors from HEAR US AND TREMBLE to machine monotone.
Ugh, the voiceacting in Starcon2 makes me want to stab my eardrums with an icepick, although I will admit that the Mycon were not as hideous as some of the others. They both sound boring in both games.
To best appreciate Mycon speech, you need a set of bongo drums. Sometimes it sounds like Beatnik poetry, but even more "far out." I like the parts where you hear Precursor speech.
They couldn't make this game any worse if they tried.

Not very Myconish at all. It's like they're really talking to the captain!

So that's what Pete Pirahnaplant sounds like. No wonder Mario kills him on the spot.

Their suppose to be talking about Juffo Wup!!! Lol.

Pah. Non-sequitur and incoherent ramblings define the Mycon.

It's weird you say that, since I thought the SC2 Mycon voice was really dull.

Nooo! The Mycon voice was none other than the almighty Paul Reiche III himself!
He actually was.

honestly I always thought the only thing SC3 did right was the Mycon voice.

The voice almost sounds like "His Divine Shadow" only sleepier.

It's amazing how many lines from Star Control 2 were recycled.
