Yea on veteran I shot the truck 7 times with the sniper and on my 2nd clip of the pistol I actually hit the general. So you've got to be playing on recruit or regular for that truck to blow up that easy.

it doesn't work for me :(. tried many times. When i shoot truck it explodes on either 3.4.5th hit with sniper. the 3rd hit when it went bang drove me bonkers. its led me to guess that certain parts of truck are weaker than others. The pistol also proved useless too, the guy pretty much legs it. im not that good on FPS games, even when the settings are harder. im out of option to what i can do. :(

I did like Citi, I tried to do the truck explosion thing with no luck. I let him drive off and just fired away. If you run out of ammo and it switches you to sniper, switch back to pistol and you have more ammo. At least from what I experienced. Strictly luck on my part.

OMG this was the hardest thing I have ever done so far...i was so lucky tho. the truck blew up to fast. I couldnt kill the drive. Right at the end i killed the driver. And waited for him to pop his head out. I was so lucky.
@1995baseballkid Try killing him the old fashion way, sniping his driver then using the pistol to pick him off as he runs. its actually much easier than this and much easier than it seems.

I did it on Regular on the first mission, and all I did was use bayonet and grenades and thats what the trophy thing says to do and I finished the mission and I didnt get the trophy... @speeps84 After you snipe the guys with flamethrowers and you follow Reznov to the floor above before you leave this part of the building on the left side of the broken wall you go through is the PTRS-41 leaning against it. This bit is shortly after killing the flamethrower guys and shortly before having to kill some Nazi's and two dogs, hope that helps it's difficult to explain.
the ptrs is at the part wheere u have to provide covering fire to you commerades as they clear the building whn you go up stairs before you walk over the ramp of planks it is resting on the wall as you go out onto that patch of concrete (if you know where that is) its like a square spot which is good to snipe people from. NOTE this is before you reach the part where you get on the MG and before you must kill the men down that walkway thingy they send in 2 dogs) I hope this helps mate :)

The MP40 was accurate if you fired it in a semi auto style. After that it becomes SpraynPray. Keep in mind in WWII you didnt have any body armors, so realistically 2-3 bullets could be fatal. Where the weapon gets broken is when the recoil snaps headshots. Most weapons in WaW are fairly close to their real life counterparts. At least the weapons I recognised. The only one that was almost completely wrong is the Browning M1919. The handle is on upside down, and a soldier CANT carry and fire it.
lol yeah and PTRS rounds would explode the bodies they hit because they are tungsten-cored rounds and the PPSh and FG-42 have way too little recoil compared to the real ones

i love how historically innacurate this game is. a PTRS as a sniper rifle? thats a load of bullshit. it was never used as such outside of testing. it was an anti tank rifle. and if im not mistaken...i do beleive i see a destroyed panther tank at :02 which wasn't in service until 1943, and this video is in stalingrad during the fall of 1942.
The real reason they call them submachine guns is that they ALL fire pistol sized rounds meaning the mp40 is just as good or bad as any other submachine gun

So many factors come into play. For example, they may all use pistol calibers, but VARIOUS calibers with very different aspects of performance. There is also operating principle, rate or fire, muzzle velocity, and even cosmetic things such as ergonomics which come into play when considering the effectiveness of an SMG.

Thanks dude for the tutorial it took quite a few tries to do it but I got the Gunslinger trophy eventually.
Note: To others attempting this, the dude in the vid says shoot it 4 times with moisin nagant sniper sometimes if you shoot it 4 times with that rifle directly on the engine it will blow up and completely destroy your attempt to get the trophy/achevement.

Bij the way, I found out that if you manage to graze him in the very first section (between the tank and te artillery piece) he stays frozen to the ground for a couple of seconds before he starts running again...
Well i cleared the game first then went back On vendetta to do it , it took me 2 attempts to get him but it took me loads of attempts to find the pistol ! Lol :D in the end my brother told me where it was Haha :D

heres the best way to do it imo, when he gets in the truck shoot the driver, then shoot amsel through the car door to weaken him, then just start shot in the back seat with your pistol (you will only have to shoot him once)
i just tried it but it went all wrong! when i sniped the bodyguard guy that comes out from behind the tank, i somehow shot amsel! which means i have to go through the level AGAIN!! soo annoying!
If you complete the level without taking him down with a pistol, just cock a grenade and kill yourself and you'll go right back to assasinating Amstel. Hope that helps.

The real reason they call them submachine guns is that they ALL fire pistol sized rounds meaning the mp40 is just as good or bad as any other submachine gun

So many factors come into play. For example, they may all use pistol calibers, but VARIOUS calibers with very different aspects of performance. There is also operating principle, rate or fire, muzzle velocity, and even cosmetic things such as ergonomics which come into play when considering the effectiveness of an SMG.

the pistol is on the table to the right when you are shooting back and forth with the sniper at the beginning of the level.

I got a glich where the truck stopped moving, but still had the driver. Since it wasn;t moving, I got an easy kill. Lucky me.

Thanks dude for the tutorial it took quite a few tries to do it but I got the Gunslinger trophy eventually.
Note: To others attempting this, the dude in the vid says shoot it 4 times with moisin nagant sniper sometimes if you shoot it 4 times with that rifle directly on the engine it will blow up and completely destroy your attempt to get the trophy/achevement.

you cheated you just blew up the car.
the real challenge is to kill him by shooting him as he runs or when hes in the car (not blowing up the car) to shoot the top of his head.

Bij the way, I found out that if you manage to graze him in the very first section (between the tank and te artillery piece) he stays frozen to the ground for a couple of seconds before he starts running again...

Well i cleared the game first then went back On vendetta to do it , it took me 2 attempts to get him but it took me loads of attempts to find the pistol ! Lol :D in the end my brother told me where it was Haha :D

thx for the vid i was shooting the truck with the pistol to blow it up i somehow shot the driver and amsle runs off out of the way the way of the exploding truck so i start shooting at him and the srg said i grazed him and just before he gets away i got him in the back of the head

i got this on my 1st try on veteran... i shot the driver and then waited for him to run up the street, then i just sniped him with my pistol as he was gettin away, good luck to you all :D

heres the best way to do it imo, when he gets in the truck shoot the driver, then shoot amsel through the car door to weaken him, then just start shot in the back seat with your pistol (you will only have to shoot him once)

If you complete the level without taking him down with a pistol, just cock a grenade and kill yourself and you'll go right back to assasinating Amstel. Hope that helps.
