i think the epix is very ugly looking, which is unfortunate cuz i would otherwise be extremely interested in getting this phone. the treo pro is less powerful, but i'd rather have a phone that i can look at rather than one that looks like it should be shot out of a cannon.

This video was very helpful for me when I was trying to decide between the two phones. I ended up choosing the treo pro. The pro felt more pocketable which was the deal breaker for me. Also I like the microSD slot on the inside. I hate having the flap hanging out. Finally the 3.5mm jack and the standard d-pad added to the convenience. The convenience was worth the extra $100 to me.

the treo pro is an absolute smudge magnet. and this is enhanced by the fact that it doesn't have any softkeys, so you have to press the screen instead of there being buttons for certain operations. which means that not only are your fingerprints going to be all over this phone, they're also gonna be on the screen. a very difficult phone to keep clean. it will often look completely greasy and dirty.

I don't think any carrier has the Palm Treo Pro right now. AT&T's got the Palm Centro which is similar to the Treo Pro though if that helps

Minman must be the only person in the world that thinks that grabbing and dragging a tiny little bar with a fiddly mouse cursor to scroll is easier than clicking a D-Pad to scroll. I certainly wouldn't call the Epix a "more traditional design" when the vast majority of all PDA/Smartphones released within the last year or two actually have more rounded shapes. Also, the Epix does have a quick way to turn on vibrate: press and hold the SILENT key. And as far as looks go, I never understood the logic of including something so subjective in a review. You pick the Treo and I actually think the Epix is the better looking of the two. Apart from those items, good review.

I only like the Samsung Epix because of the Optical Mouse. I've been using the AT&T Tilt for 2 months now and pretty much it can't be used without the stylus in my opinion and my experience. I wish I can just sell my AT&T Tilt and get the Samsung Epix. My AT&T Tilt is 50% more thicker because of the extended life capacity battery.
