You can type in "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" and see the line-up. It includes the bands, celebrities, floats, balloons, etc. I understand The Smurfs balloon will make its debut this year.
I saw this back in December and it is the most fun I have ever had on Broadway. I STILL talk about this and recommend every goes to see this. It's hilarious. you get glow sticks!!! haha :)
Argued with my mother for a good twenty miuntes over this, she was dead set in believing that Kerry was just lip-synching to Olivia's original track from the movie....had to explain that it was actually Kerry, though she does sound like Olivia here...
Hi, The New York Times Review was very positive, apparently tongue-in-cheek. A surprise hit! Haven't seen it myself but the review had me very interested.
Kerry Butler sounds so much like Olivia Newton-John! I know she intended to sound kind of like her, but this is a LOT like Olivia Newton-John! She's a terrific singer!
Cheyenne Jackson is a great singer. Kerry Butler is delightful. Curtis Holbrook is a terrific comedian & dancer. The show on Broadway was incredibly entertaining with terrific music, more singers/dancers, a wonderful script and lots of great escapist fun. The theater's lavish set also added a low to the performance. If you liked this you'll love the show; it's a winner.
omg i love Kerry and Curtis their both Hairpsray people!!! and im a Hairspray fanatic! but Kerry has the most amazing voice and Curtis is one of my fav dancers in the movie. i havent seen this but so far i like it. but my cuzin has seen it 3 or 4 times
This show seems so low- budget. From its costumes to its 10 person ensemble. Kerry's accent is so broad that it distracts, and the whole show seems to play like "Forbidden Broadway".
The Helen Hayes Theatre is tiny. The stage couldn't hold more than 10. The costumes look low budget because it is set in 1980--which is a tragic decade all around as far as fashion goes. It's suppose to happen all in one day--so how many costume changes do you want? Kerry has multiple accent throughout the show (Australian/Southern USA/LA Valley Girlish). The musical is a tongue-in-cheek 80s romp. I think you should see the show and not just one performace before you start being critical.
There's a guy in the band Family Force 5 named Xanadu after the movie! chaeck him out!

for some reason, this whole performance seems like a parody. But Kerry is amazing, and that makes up for it.
SL4Koala 4 years ago
it is a parody. it's a parody of the movie onn which it's based.

The painted asphalt adds just the right level of fear to the performances...

Actually I dont think so, barely any macy performances perform live. (They need everyone to hear them)
Rentisgreat 4 years ago
no. no one sings live on the macy's parade.
