This was a sad day for me as an Illinois fan. Glad to see us in the Rose Bowl again, but not to go out there and lay an egg. I would have been happy with a loss to SC as long as we put up a fight. Didn't happen that way though. Illinois is still trying to regain its respect as a football program, and a strong showing here could have gone a long way in doing that.
Heres my problem with SC. They play in a very weak conference. If they want to they can rest their starters for a month with no risk of losing. We cant do that in the SEC. We'll be totin an ass whoopin. At the end of the year we have key players banged up or out. SC has their Spring Roster. This is BS. The SEC has won the last 4 Football titles. All by Different teams.Not to mentioin the last 3 Baseball titles. DOMINANCE

As far as Miami goes I agree they had star players but 3 Heisman Trophy winners in 4 years and winning all non conference games including Auburn and Arkansas on there home field? Remember Miami got handled by A PAC 10 school the year before they won the BCS in 01 ( Washington Huskies) so I'm just saying.

Tebow to harvin = touchdown...even against the trojans, and between rainey, demps and harvin florida had 3 players that could easily burn every usc player. tebow had trouble passing on a horrible OU pass defense. Florida would have absolutely no pass offense against usc. they would get some yards on the ground. but that would not be enough. brandon spikes is too slow for joe mcknight. Taylor mays has extremely fast closing speed. usc's linebackers are faster than florida's linebackers. florida's defense is good. but usc would win. too bad we'll never get to see it though

USC's defense was the best defense in the country last year and way better than OU's defense. Florida would've been lucky to score 14. USC wouldn't have scored as much as they did on Penn State. But they would've scored enough to beat Florida.

With some exceptions every few years, it is customary for the top SEC teams -Florida, LSU, Alabama, Georgia - to schedule cupcake teams for non-conference play. I can understand having one "gimmie" game, but there is no excuse to schedule 2-3 cupcake teams almost every season. And I know the SEC is tough, but come on.
USC 2010 schedule, they have 4 out of conference games, Hawaii, Virginia, Note Dame, & Minnesota. Conference from the WAC, ACC, & Big10. USC loves out of conference game.
To add to that, when SEC teams have grown the balls to play USC they have got their ass kicked. '03 when Auburn was #3 in the nation USC went INTO their place and shut 'em out 23-0. AK when they were in top 20 got their ass beat, USC scored on every possesion in the 1st half. if USC wouldve played UF .... USC would have that title. Tebow would take off and get his ass rocked by mays and rey rey and he would realize this is usc bitch, we lay the wood!

While Ark won 10 games that year, they finished on a 3-game losing streak.

If you look at the history of USC and SEC teams going back to the 70's USC has always prevailed even as most recent as 2002 whe they destroyed Auburn @ Auburn, coinsidently that was the win that actually legitimzed USC and Pete Carroll. Also USC has an open contract as far as out of confrence opp. goes they'll play anybody home and home ....So if SEC teams wanted to they could schedule USC

i desperately want to see this game as well. last year with sanchez vs tebow would've been awesome. still i think usc would've beaten them simpley because usc gives florida serious matchup problems. florida wasn't that great of a passing team and usc had a dominant pass defense. and tebow wouldn't have been able to run through usc linebackers and safeties like he did against that weak OU defense

my ass, lol percy harvin could break taylor mays ankles, and louis murphy. Florida could pass. Tebow to harvin = touchdown...even against the trojans, and between rainey, demps and harvin florida had 3 players that could easily burn every usc player. And floridas pass d would shut down sanchez. Mcknight would have problems with brandon spikes. I would say florida 30 usc 21.

tebow had trouble passing on a horrible OU pass defense. Florida would have absolutely no pass offense against usc. they would get some yards on the ground. but that would not be enough. brandon spikes is too slow for joe mcknight. Taylor mays has extremely fast closing speed. usc's linebackers are faster than florida's linebackers. florida's defense is good. but usc would win. too bad we'll never get to see it though

you seem to be failing to understand that florida could only score 24 on oklahoma.
USC's defense was the best defense in the country last year and way better than OU's defense. Florida would've been lucky to score 14. USC wouldn't have scored as much as they did on Penn State. But they would've scored enough to beat Florida.
and 1 more thing. Taylor mays is faster than percy harvin. He runs a faster 40 yard dash.

yeah i know oklahoma played well. OU just sucks even when they play well. but their defense does suck. texas dropped 45 on them and OK state dropped 41.
and. penn state was a better PASSING team than florida. i'm not saying they are better than florida. but darryl clark is a better passer than tebow. and their last couple scores were in garbage time when usc stopped attacking.
and yes Mays is. Mays ran a 4.25 forty yard dash. Harvin ran a 4.34.

daryll clark is a better PASSER than tebow. Tebow is probably a better quarterback overall in college, but in the nfl, clark would be considered the better quarterback.
and it doesn't matter what moody said, he might've meant that harvin was quicker because he is smaller, but the timed running speaks for itself. Mays is faster

With some exceptions every few years, it is customary for the top SEC teams -Florida, LSU, Alabama, Georgia - to schedule cupcake teams for non-conference play. I can understand having one "gimmie" game, but there is no excuse to schedule 2-3 cupcake teams almost every season. And I know the SEC is tough, but come on.

USC 2010 schedule, they have 4 out of conference games, Hawaii, Virginia, Note Dame, & Minnesota. Conference from the WAC, ACC, & Big10. USC loves out of conference game.

To add to that, when SEC teams have grown the balls to play USC they have got their ass kicked. '03 when Auburn was #3 in the nation USC went INTO their place and shut 'em out 23-0. AK when they were in top 20 got their ass beat, USC scored on every possesion in the 1st half. if USC wouldve played UF .... USC would have that title. Tebow would take off and get his ass rocked by mays and rey rey and he would realize this is usc bitch, we lay the wood!

100% agreed. i think florida would've played em tough. florida had a pretty good defense last year, but florida's offense was barely able to pass against OU. USC would've shut tebow down and laid the wood on him.

Everybody expected Auburn to contend in '03 (started #6, btw) but they didn't, going 8-5. Arkansas wasn't ranked in either contest against USC, and was breaking in a OC new to the college game as well as missing half of its RB tandem when they lost in '06. While Ark won 10 games that year, they finished on a 3-game losing streak.

The NC game this yr was the 1st time an SEC NC team was against a real opponent. Was Aub the best? yes. Dominant vs Oregon? hardly.

They pretty much showed that by dropping three games to end the season (which dropped them to 10-4, btw). And if they were SC's easiest game that year, then their toughest was UCLA (a 6-loss team), who held them to 9 pts? As to UO v. UT, my chest was not being pumped, I expected Tenn. to get raped because they weren't any good. And as to Auburn, you don't have to be dominant to win :)

@YOUTAIA No excuses, just laying bare the facts. Yes, going into '03 SC lost some superstars after winning an Orange Bowl....and they left on a high note after finishing 6-6 the year before that. SC wasn't hurting in the recruiting dept. (now we know why). Now even if Ark. lost, you can't tell me that te result would be the same in, say, week 6 rather than 1. My overall point is this: It was easy for SC to dominate out of conference because they rarely faced any adversity in conference.

If you look at the history of USC and SEC teams going back to the 70's USC has always prevailed even as most recent as 2002 whe they destroyed Auburn @ Auburn, coinsidently that was the win that actually legitimzed USC and Pete Carroll. Also USC has an open contract as far as out of confrence opp. goes they'll play anybody home and home ....So if SEC teams wanted to they could schedule USC
