PLS help I just finished my new build and when i play high graphics demanding games such as Crysis 2 on max with Dvx11 or WoW on max with Dvx11 it makes my psu scweals. I have also blue screened after a shut down the game. I am ussing a Seasonic x series 850 wat gold to power my Radeon HD 6950 2gb and ntel i7 2600k along with a Asus Maximus extreme edition and lastly a corsair h100. Pls help is it not putting out enough jucie to power my rig ?
Lol.My 850watt version of that psu does the same. And it don,t mater what card is in the computer it does it.And my does it no mater what settings are in the game vsync on or off.I changed my psu out to a themaltake and never heard it agian. It was getting anoying.I was reading on the ocz fourms and a few others were having the same issue. One guy Rma his twice and still the new psus kept doing the same thing.I guess they said it is somthing to do with the caps????.
Hi, same noise on my PSU (powercooler PS500S), i read that comes from the coil because is forced by voltage, did you fix it? sometimes do it, sometimes not, even if i'm not playing it does it. Pardon if my english not the best.
@bajaroms I've heard the "coil whine" claims before, but heard it was mostly on older Nvidia gfx cards. As for the actual power supply, a few things: why kind of chipset do you have? (I've found others with the same noise have intel chipsets, as do I.) The only "solution" for now is to limit frame rates via forcing v-synch on. It drastically reduces the noise, but isn't really a fix.
I feel your pain. I was blaming my GPU but I have the exact same issue. (see my channel).
