  • Enjoy one of the finest living pianists. TY Sissco for sharing.

  • Listen to Medtner, Moiseiwitch and Jung Lin playing Medtner, absolute magic!

  • can someone send me the sheet music? :)

  • The sheet music is at IMSP - Four Tales, Op. 26, No. 1. Isn't it ravishing?

  • 2:33 of sublime magic...

  • I play this and its so hard to get it to this tempo and still sound nice!

  • J'ai un souvenir d'un concerto de Katchaturian...au CMC

    " plus vite Lorraine!"

merci d'être au service de la beauté!

    Lorraine

  • Nice and beautiful piece.^^

  • Hamelin's fingerings are always so smart! ...I adore the sound he produces from the piano.

  • absolutely beautiful

  • Does anyone know where i can find the sheet music for this? I couldn't find it on the site i usually use.

  • The complete Fairy Tales are available in one volume from Dover Publications.

  • I can send you the sheet music if you like, just PM me!

    Anybody else?

  • wonderful, enchanting piece.

  • its wonderfully embracing music isnt it. You immediately feel you have know it for years. Yeah for a Medtner revival!

  • I'd love to say this is my favourite fairy tale by Medtner.. but it is not that easy with Medtner's music.

I could listen to any piece by Medtner and it could become my favourite.. it's so much beyond words, and also beyond listening...

  • This piece is absolutely wonderful, I'm really glad I discovered Medtner.

  • I saw Hamelin play the Night Wind sonata at Barge Music in NYC. A boat gently rocking back and forth, Hamelin's phenomenal playing in front of a wall-of-glass revealing the lower-Manhattan skyline... pure magic.

  • full of wonder and enchanting

  • It's the first of the Op.26 set of 4 fairy tales, played beautifully by Hamelin, great video!

  • Gorgeous playing, super-rich romanticism. Anyone know which of the "fairy tales" it is?

  • This is Medtner's Fairy Tales Op. 26 No.1

  • Thank you for posting this. I always appreciate it when a pianist, especially of Hamelin's caliber, helps revive a neglected composer, and Medtner's piano music is always a pleasure to hear.

  • I totally agree, i've been obsessed with Medtner for several years but I've never heard him played live - I hope more videos and more Hamelin menas that he'll get the exposure he deserves. (If anyone has a video of hamelin playing Fairy Tale Op20 No2 Campanella Please put it on!)
