I don't understand how people can be against universal health care. I don't understand how anyone can equivocate universal healthcare to be a socialist paradigm.
Are you F**ING kidding me? Our country DOES offer FREE health insurance to a bunch of low-lifes like this lady who smoke a carton of cigarettes per day, drink a case of beer per day, have cell phones, get their hair/nails done but yet don't freaking have a job because they choose to sit on their ass all day and get free shit from the government. Meanwhile I am at work busting my ass and I get nothing for it and I am supposed to feel sorry for these people?!!!
people that use the ER like a primary physician are why people who are in an actual emergency have to wait 3 hour with a broken leg while the doctor treats the uninsured persons 4 year old with a cough. Inless its a true emergency go to a free clinic
my wife is russian. they have little saying that goes... better to die than go to hospital. there is a reason why health care cost so much here... because its the best in the world. eropean health care is pathetic. cut out the lawsuits and allow people to purchase ins over state lines to create competition. thats the fix... so what are you suggesting, i should stay at work a little longer to pay for your health care? every man for himself. TORT REFORM!!
@theunderone1 my guess would have been much more than 10. regardless, there is a very good reason why europeans with money come to usa for life threatening surgery's. capitalization of the healthcare system has produced the best MD's along with the most advanced medical technology in the world. government health care = shit!
No offense (And I really do mean it) but the Russian Healthcare system is terrible, plus Russia isn't in Europe, so it can't be called a European system.
People go to the U.S for treatment because the U.S has some of the most expensive hospitals in the World, where they can undergo procedures that haven't been tested, but if you're gooing to die and your rich, wouldn't you do the same? pay to take a risk?
Unfortunately, %99 of the World can't afford U.S style Healthcare
@usernametaken1932 : So screw poor people with no insurance. And screw their children too. That's really soulless. The fact that these people have to use the ER as their primary care physician drives the cost up for everyone including you. You're already paying for those people you so easily discard. If you ever fall on hard times, you won't be so black hearted.
@alexandradeufemia people abuse it though and even come to expect it, I knew a mother of 2 who is 25 who lived on welfare in the projects for about 100 bucks a month and would spend about 50 bucks a day sniffing coke. she had no job. unfortunally the sterotypes a lot of the time tend to be true. she and someone in her situation were talking about it. I personally would never take any type of assistance I can take care of myself, I save my money and exspect others to do the same.
First none of you know more then she's retired and uninsured. Fyi i have some facts those who made rude comments wont like. Fact 1 a lot of disabled people between 18 and 30 have ssi but get no medical becuase never worked becuase been disabled whole life. Fact 2 walmart may make claim they will hire anyone they don't. Fact 3 free clinics are not everywhere. Fact 4 people who shouldnt be on it who are make it harder for those who need medicare/caid to get it.
lay off the drugs. You are part of the problem in Emergency Room overcrowding. People like you use the Emergency Room as a clinic instead of going to free clinics. Stop the excuses and get a job, start contributing and quit your bitching!
There are lots of free clinics funded by tax dollars of working folks. If you are retired (and over 65) you should have medicare if you worked during your lifetime and paid taxes. You look well enough to get some sort of job which may come with health insurance. Or at least you could earn enough money to go to the numerous urgent care "doc in the box" clinics. Your presence in the ER clogs up the system, eats up resources and detracts from the care the truly sick emergency patients.
> I'm basically retired, I don't make a lot of money...
There's a classified section in the newspaper. Get a job and buy some insurance. If you can't afford to pay your insurance, retirement's a pretty stupid idea and you shouldn't get a free handout for quitting your job.

A very contrived video - why not portray the majority of the patients who are illegal aliens?
