I was always really jealous of this guy because my girlfriend was obsessed with him. Probably because he was like 100x better looking than me lol. But he had a certain charm that made you connect with all of the characters he played, and it's sad that his talent was never fully utilized. He would have only been 40 this year. I read some of the negative comments and my blood boils - people do presume to know all about River whereas there are no people on this earth who know more about him than his friends and family. No he didn't. River was a very sensitive person, it wasn't flea's fault that River couldn't play that night and it wasn't flea's fault that River medicated himself with drugs. You can't put River's death down to Flea. If anything, Flea stuck by him till the very end! He was stayed with River until he was declared dead, travelled with him in the ambulance. River and Flea were best buddies. Don't comment on something like you know everything when clearly you don't.
