actually... although its almost always funny and cute when they meet its SUCH a sad story in the same way. I can only imagine how hard, how impossible it must be for River. Its terrifying only to imagine such a way of love. I hope he'll find a way to get her out of that libary-computer-thing.

that was great, it's nice to know more about river song and how she met the doctor and who she is to him, i've always said & still say that she is the doctors wife, cos the final episode of series 6 is called "the wedding of river song" so i'm assuming she does marry the doctor cos she did say about marrying him before she regenerated into river, in that episode "lets kill hitler" & he did promise her that he would, lets hope they do ;D

@Monitor0347 At the end of Day of the Moon, the Doctor asks her to stay and travel with him for a while, yet she says she needs to stay in Stormcage as she has a promise to keep. Sounds like she's doing time for something that's very important to her, and it's a sentence she needs to fulfill. :) I think she'd love to forget the timey wimey obligations and travel with the Doctor, but she's got her prison sentence to complete first.

When I first met River Song I was so offended by her. How dare she say that he wasn't the Doctor yet?! I told myself over and over that I would have to learn to like her or hate the show for as long as she existed. Slowly yet surely I as I saw more of her I didn't need to tell myself to like her anymore. Then the moment I realized who she was I remembered the first time I met her.. it was her last time. I literally cried. Strange how things flipped as they did...

Actually, as much as I dislike Moffat, that was a lovely monologue. The young actress is great.  Alex Kingston is one of the few high points of this version of Doctor Who. I've read people saying she is too old... she is a lovely person, and quite pretty. She was also very good actress on ER. She might have played The Doctor better than Matt Smith, with him as HER companion... That could have worked! But, not if she had to act his lines, that wouldn't suit her intellect.

Alex Kingston is a brilliant actress she is truly the real star of the entire series. I rank her ability up there with David Tennant. Matt Smith is wonderful but Steven is really dragging on the material in my opinion. The only parts worth watching is the River/Doctor Episodes.
