2^3 is the same as 2 times 2 three times 2 x 2 x 2 which is 8

so if 2 x 2 = 4

and you times by 2 again (4 x 2)

you get 8

for the zero property you are right that it works for all number accept 0. because 0^0 or 0 to the 0 power is unidentified. but nice tutorial. 5/5 :)
