  • "Waffen-SS were parade ground soldiers"

That would STILL shred the fuck out of the modern USA-regulars.

"Don't shoot, we're having our periods!"

Fuck you. And the Maquis were a bunch of greasy little communist bugger-billies, drunk on hooch.

  • mors code LOL

  • Green Berets are small 12 man teams that do stuff like spying on an enemy compound, they are equipped to do just that, SS are equipped and trained for large scale battle that take months. Its like comparing. SS would be more prepared to take a city, while the green berets would be better at gathering intellig

  • @TheCurlyGang Without comparing them, I must say the Green Berets are trained extensively how to take and defend cities while outnumbered, but are not frequently used to do that because that would not be resourceful. There is a surplus of soldiers in the US military that are also trained extensively to do that.

  • @shoobe101: Lastly...

    8. "Green Berets would tear the SS a new ass.": In which field? Demolition? Sniper? Interrogations? Sentry Eliminations and Infiltration? Small group tactics? In which theater? While the SS might not have hacked it in Vietnam or Burma, the Berets might not have had an easy time on the Eastern Front, or the Balkans, or Africa. Try and be specific, please.

  • @NKVism3

Waffen-SS were parade ground soldiers, who were picked for loyalty to Hitler, their greatest weapon was their fanatacism not their training. If you want a German WWII unit that is a better match for a Green Beret it would be the Fallschirmjager (Paratroopers) and Gebirsjager (Mountain Troopers) Don't forget the Modern Special Forces Soldier was born out of the SAS, Marine Raiders, Merrial's Maruders, Rangers, Commandoes, Resistance, and Desert Rats of World War II

  • @shoobe101: Cont...

    7. "they were misled valiant cannon fodder.": Much less "misled" than the undeniably brave guys who were chewed up in McNamara's pet project. Who hurt Communism more, and more directly? They were a pan-European multinational volunteer force. They knew exactly what they would be fighting for. Vietnam? Not as ambitious as an invasion of Russia but given the situation, much more unjustifiable. No Allied victory, no NEED for a Vietnam, much less a Korea.

    6. "their leadership didnt know how to use them.": Let's look at how some were utilized: As shock troops, tank escorts, supplementary internal security, anti-partisan, punitive wetwork, and other duties as assigned. Many of them were multilingual and while the parachute and solo-mission training may not have been on a par with the Green Meanies, these guys DID have a broad range of competance.

    3. "they were not wermacht.this was their weakness.": Marines are not Army. Is this their weakness? Plenty of the SS men had served in WWI. They weren't all "Teddy Roosevelts".

    4. "they did not have the same training as there Army counterparts": I'd say that they had BETTER, considering their FUNCTION.

    5. "they also lacked leaders." Lol, Himmler, Heydrich, Kaltenbrunner, Degrelle, and Skorzeny weren't leaders? They did lead, and by example.

  • @shoobe101: 1. "your a racist idiot": Who can at least type in complete and coherant sentences, in the English language, slob. 2. "who doesnt know shit.so im gonna give you a lil history lesson." History is an interest of mine. Be my guest, "pilgrim".

  • @Madara: OBVIOUSLY, there have been technological and functional developments in today's elite forces. But its significant enough that the SS is studied along with other fine examples, in even the US training.

  • I about pissed myself on the "chopping off the lizards head and eating it" part.

  • HOOAH! I am Airborne right now. I am going SF in May.

  • @SK8inhome Good luck, my Uncle was A LT COL in the SF

  • No matter how badass, steely, committed, or welltrained, Zog flunkies nonetheless.

The Waffen SS... beyond the grave, STILL the best of the best.

  • @NKVism3 Bull.

  • @NKVism3 your a racist idiot who doesnt know shit.so im gonna give you a lil history lesson.

the SS/waffen SS was the personal Army of that hitler douche.they were tough, fanatical in believe, motivated, and supplied with the best equipment.they were not wermacht.this was their weakness.they did not have the same training as there Army counterparts. they also lacked leaders.their leadership didnt know how to use them.they were misled valiant cannon fodder.Green Berets would tear the SS a new ass.
