My local arcade had one of these. It was only 25 cents and I never saw anyone else play it. These days it would probably be sued out of existence, if you could find an arcade to put it in.
I was lucky enough to have been able to play this game, in this super-deluxe version, quite a few times as a kid. I never got too good at it, but MAN was that an experience! The only thing to impress me more at the time was seeing S.T.U.N. Runner in action.
I got to play this version of Galaxy Force II last month. One word describes the Super-Deluxe Galaxy Force II: AWESOME! Gotta love these old '80s arcade cabinets.

I remember seeing this in arcades, it was a whopping $10AU for 1 credit when I saw it.
