In loving memory of my dearest, sweetest, and angel of grandmother. RIP <3 I miss you very much! *SOBS* she used to sing songs like this and we used to dance to Glenn Miller. My life won't be the same without her here. Hopefully she is watching over me in heaven. <3 <3 <3
I THINK THAT THIS IS ON E OF THE BESTEST SONGS THAT THERE COULD BE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD THAT WE LIVE IN AND I THINK THAT MORE PEOPLE SHOULD BE LISTENING TO THIS INSTEAD THAN TO RAP AND HIP HOP THAT ALL THE YOUNG PEOPLE LISTEN TO AT LEAST HERE IN NORWAY AND AS SUCH AND THEN AS THEREFORE THE WORLD WOULD BE A MORE ROMANTIC AND PEACEFUL WORLDS
Miller hired Ray Eberly after hearing that Bob Eberly, with Jimmy Dorsey, had a brother and figuered if Bob could sing like he did, his brother must be pretty good too.
I never knew this was such an old song until I looked up info on it because I only knew it as Ricky Nelson singing it, which is one of my favorite songs by him! This is cool to hear! My grandpa loved Glenn Miller too! This is a nice version! =)
I didn't think I was going to love this version as much as I love the Elvis version, being the Elvis fanatic that I am, but what a much more romantic song with Glenn Miller's music to Eberle's vocals. Absolutely beautiful.
I heard this song browsing through an antique shop and its always in the back of my mind. I love this song, the background has such a unique sound you dont hear now adays
I have listened to this song at least once a week for the last year to make sure I won't change my mind. I still think it will be perfect for our first dance. <3
I was born in the late 60s and I loved this song as sung by Ricky Nelson. I just found out that this song dates back to the 40s. Beautiful version by Glenn Miller. Too bad they don't make music with so much heart and emotion like this anymore.
I love Glen Miller and this is a great version, but my favourite is Frank Sinatra and the Tommy Dorsey orchestra as on The Frank Sinatra Dejavu Retro Gold Collection.
@passover77 Sure; the vocalist is Ray Eberle (1919-1979), who sang with The Glenn Miller Orchestra from 1939-42. It was Ray's brother Bob who had first been hired to sing with the Dorseys; when brothers Tommy and Jimmy went their separate musical ways forming their own bands, a sideman named Glenn Miller left to form a band of his own, and offered Ray Eberle a job.
Siempre gratificante, la vida va pasando y 33 años son muchos años pero yo sigo siendo el mismo loco, despues de más de 3 decadas.Feliz o triste, da igual, sustine sustine, es el mismo de aquel 1975.
Wow, Fools rush in !!! I heard it for the first time in 1973 or 1974 with Ricky Nelson and I was so amazed by the rithm and the sound of the electric guitar and fall in love of Rock music ! before that my world was just junior high school and soccer. I heard it on Vuelve el Rock con Elvis Presley en Radio 590 " La Pantera" in Mexiko Stadt !!!
Wow, I grew up listening tho Glen's music. One of the great tragedies of WW2 was losing Glen Miller. I have "The Glen Miller Story" around here on vhs, and this reminds me to get it out and watch it. June Alyson and Jimmy Stewart if memory serves me right. Thanks for the memory!
@resopicker My mum now 86 thank G d saw Miller twice in the summer of 44, once at an airbase of the 8th AAC and later at the Riabow corner. she has vivid memories of both, a joy to hear
@resopicker music isn't the same anymore, that's for sure. Even though i was born in the late 60s, & have always held glenn as the `standard' of the big band era, i do know that there are others, such as tommy & jimmy dorsey, the andrews sisters, the ink spots, guy lombardo, bing crosby & others. I had noticed an interview with jim morrison from the doors back in the 70s, that music would head towards the way of heavily electronic & using tapes, (but actually records for scratching rap junk) .

I've been a Glenn Miller admirer for about 55 years now, and I am sure as well the singer of "Fools Rush In" is Ray Eberle

It's certainly Ray Eberle singing. However, I do prefer the Dorsey/Sinatra version.

The one and only Glenn Miller.
raymondwunna 1 year ago
The lyrics were written by Johnny Mercer with music by Rube Bloom in the 40's I believe.
Two major adaptations were recorded, one by Glenn Miller with Ray Eberle and another by Tommy Dorsey with Frank Sinatra.

Ray Eberle is correct! He was the co-talented brother of Bob who sang with Jimmy Dorsey.

@5000433 Thanks for answering but I don't think it's Tex. He didn't have the high range or the mellow tone that this singer had.
I'm going to listen to some Ray Eberle vocals and see if I agree with 1903.
