  • 15% of 290 is 43.5.. bieng 215 on a mustang dyno is considerably good... No tunning or mods dont forget pplsss

  • 7 miles, wow thats not even dynoing right, not broken in yet........should have dynoed it when it was around 3000 miles after the first oil change

  • Dave Buschur told me their dyno reads lower than almost every one they've seen. I'd imagine a factual number is about 230whp or so. He's doing my install and tune in a few weeks :)

  • Haha, you guys saying 215 whp stock is gay, you probably just dont get it. Any car that can do 0-60, with a 2.0liter engine, and these numbers, in 4.6s is pretty damn good. Its not about how much horsepower you have, its about how much of that HP you can actually use. The evo x and the ralliart use every last bit of it. Keep in mine, any AWD car has large amounts of drivetrain loss. I think the evos is generally 15-20%, so knowing that, this baseline makes perfect sense.

  • @xXTigerArmyXx i agree completely. it's all about the numbers put down on the pavement. but, 215hp is actually around a 27% loss from crank to wheels. that's what threw me off so much.

  • @daveisdragon Well Buschurs dyno reads very low. Just like Koobs said, of all the dyno companies out there, a Mustang dyno usually reads the lowest of all.

  • It divides it between all four wheels so yeah it's going to lose some hp. It's till fast though promise lol

  • the horsepower rating on these cars might be overrated if its making that much hp at the wheel

  • Wow! It really loses that much from crank to wheels?! That's a little disappointing; I didn't think it'd be that much.

  • AWD Brotha! It's usually 17-20% loss. But regardless 215whp stock is kinda gayish IMO. Granted, after 7 miles it isnt broke in yet.

  • Yeah I expect 17-20% but I was just shocked even on a benchline dyno. . . that's pushin 28%. I don't know much about the evo. Not gonna lie

  • @brown55061 215whp is gayish?? you should be AMAZED that with only 215 whp the Evo X does 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and the 1/4 in 13.6! That is freaking AMAZING, with only 215 whp!!!! just with 215 whp (stock) The Evo is FAST!!! and not only that Most people modd thier Evos and are pushing 400- 450 whp.... if its feels fast with only 215 whp.... can you imagine how it would feel with 400 whp?? youll shit your pants! I know i did haha

  • @princeofroyalty2

I guess I just would have expected better numbers. I can't say anything, I have a stock SS/SC cobalt with a whopping 210whp. I don't want 400 hp because I'm getting sick of working on cars lol. I'll just admire everyone else's stuff on YouTube and keep my money. Nice cars though!

  • well, every single dyno platform measures different numbers

  • @daveisdragon mustang dyno's read low.

  • @koobsw ah, gotcha.

  • jw.. wont the engine get fucked after a while if you just rip it before break in?

  • there's a lot of debate on the topic, and many top engine builder advocate a good beating when the engine is new, than an oil change at around 20 miles. Theres evidence to support that this leads to longer engine life/more power. Do a little research if you're really curious

  • Break it in how you're going to drive it.

  • @evojrod yeah, it's weird how all these people don't know how to properly break in their car. you don't buy a new pair of stiff shoes and NOT flex them because they'll get less stiff in time.

  • @oshivy that's a common misconception. The engine is broken in at the factory, it's the other components (suspension, etc.) that really need breaking in. I still wouldn't gun it straightaway though either, for no reason really.

  • For those hating. Driving a car hard early is actually the way u want to break in a car. Provides proper ring sealing. And i dont even drive an Evo im on the darkside with a forged motor gt mustang.

  • Tackling a wide range of RPM is the proper way to break in, not just "driving hard." Driving at redline while breaking in will fuck up your car.

  • Considerably down from Mitsu's advertised 290 some hp. Is it because of break-in?

  • Break in has nothing to do with the power seen. That 290 is crank horsepower. The mustang dyno reads wheel horsepower. I sure would like to know where in the heck everyone keeps getting these "break in" ideas.

  • Ah. So the dyno run shown in the video is hp at the wheels? Thanks for setting me straight :)

  • I have been looking at the New Evo, since IMHO it has finally grown up and has decent looks...people are complaining about the acceleration of this model versus previous generations like the 8 and 9. in real world application is the .3 -.5 second really noticeable? from your previous comments it looks as if the best tool for this machine is a good driver??? I've also heard that the car can feel "sluggish" does this have any merit?

  • evo X fails its not a DSM its a MIVEC that engine fails soo badly that JUN autos swapped the 4G63 back in it and tuned it to be a D1 car thus making it RWD and as for rachetandclanknxtg3 idk about that dude tercel has VVTI so in the final drive id own that POS and depending on the driver and track cause ive seen cars from the 1980s rape and secondly the Evo X was the worst evo to have ever been released hopefully buschurracing can make this POS into gold props ont he effort

  • That's an ignorant comment and only based on your thoughts about the vehicle. I've seen it on the road plenty of times now already, they are wonderful machines, been to the dealership, for a closer view and understanding of the car, your def wrong. best thought of Evo for a daily drivers car and yet you still get the sporty power and great awd system. now with even a Twinclutch syetem for the MR models.

  • Did you guys get another baseline after putting another 1K or 2K on it. It'd be interesting to see if the numbers changed after some break in.

  • if got 230 whp and 285tq on my mazdaspeed3 with jus an intake and mazda is more than 10 k cheaper

  • On what kind of Dyno?

P.S.- No matter what it makes... good luck getting it to the ground. Its still WWD. WWD = Wrong Wheel Drive

  • @evojrod or fwd=FAIL wheel drive

  • 215awhp???? evo x? lol.....wow!!!!! what a joke...... arent people supposed to be pulling 30-40whp with basic intake setups?!?!??! god damn, 215 should be laughed at

  • The car was bone stock.

  • no excuse... this car should put down close to 240-250awhp.... what did evo's 6,7,8 and 9 put down??? 230-260awhp??? im just hoping this was a bunk example and the majority are putting down closer to 250... ive seen pulls of well over 300awhp evo x with minor bolt ons so i dont see how baseline could be so low...unless its bunk example :D

  • No excuse? Dude do you have any idea what you're talking about? Its apparent you do not.

Mustang dyno's read low... especially ours. Everyone knows that. Mustang dyno's read REAL WHEEL HORSEPOWER. Im sure you have seen em put down well over 300 on a Dynojet which reads crank horsepower.

A stock Evo 8 and/or Evo 9 would make between 205 and 220 on our dyno.

The car is over 300 on this dyno now just FYI and went 12.2 full weight, stock wheels & tires, 93 octane pump gas and stock clutch.

  • So... Put that in your "bunk" and smoke it.

  • no excuse! 215awhp on even a mustang dyno seems low for any recent evo. ive seen stock X's around the 260awhp range on a dynojet, not 300awhp.... i wasnt aware that the dynojet's read "crank hp"...no driveline loss on a dynojet? i knew they read higher then a mustang, but i didnt think it would be almost a 50whp gap at the stock lvl...but your the one with a dyno, not me, i just thought 215 was a lil low even for a mustang...and thats kickass u almost hit 11's already, evo's rule..

  • Dynojet's do not load the car. Mustang dyno's are a load based dyno that simulate real driving such as being on the road. You're not just spinning the rollers for a number.

Ideally its normally about a 20% difference from a Dynojet to a Mustang. So whats 215 + 20%..... 258. There ya have it.

  • my tercel would out perform this piece of junk any day.

  • YOU OWN A TERCEL?!?!?!? HAHHAHAHAHA you should start commenting on other cars when you don't own that gay piece of shit anymore. Spend some real money and buy a better car thay doesn't cost $12000 at it's best.

  • prove it mother fucker

because a tercel??? do u kno how old that shit is ??? This "piece of junk"can handle better than ur tercel with anything! Have u seen the time attack races??? most cars make between 200 and 400 HP. That's because in time attack linear response is crtical. u can have 8oo whatever HP and it can be as slow as hell

  • evo 7 is the best

  • 3, 6, 9 are the best

  • 8 is the best

  • im down with the 6, thats my dream car ;)

  • 6 is old hat, my evo 9 MR FQ-360 is the best to date and always will be

  • your evo FQ is bull shit. you can take an viii or normal ix, get a couple bolt ons, get tuned, and have more power then you while saving a lot of money. do your research ass hat

  • Evo 10's don't come stock with blue H.I.D's? Or was that daytime running? check out my vid on my bros evo 8, almost 400hp fast as shit.

  • they do come stock with HIDs

  • Most new cars come already broken in from the factory these days.

  • everyone knows car engines work better after they have been broken in...

  • Break it in how you're gonna drive it.

  • what dyno were they using?

  • We use a Mustang dyno. 500 series

  • nice for stock but need more hp for made speed

  • wow..already puttin it in stress? wat about the breakin point? btw cant wait to see how the project turns out

  • Awesome, could you also keep us up to date on costs the dollars spent as well as parts. Im upgrading from my Lancer Rally and trying to decide between the 8,9,or10. With the price of upgrading vs performance gains will be a large factor in my decision. Styling is second with the 10 edging out its older cousins. The interior, and exterior front end of the 10 is much improved. kudos in that respect to the engineers.

Cant wait to see what you have in mind for your X.

  • that snow on the tires look like it made the car jump a bit on the decel.

  • wow nice!!! cant wait

  • Show us the graph!
