  • Didnt he play on Jackson Brownes " Redneck Friend "

  • pete played on some of the Ventures cuts along with ..Red Rhodes too .[ Ventures in Space ..Peace Train ..

  • isn't it better, didn't you know...there were sounds that only one man could make

  • This is from The Festival Express. The only rock festival where the musicians got to STAY together, on a train, rolling across the country. Made for a great vibe. Rolling Stones....do you hear? Try this next tour....it'll change everything...

  • great steel player he put his heart in it .danny kidd

  • that was sneaky

  • RIP Pete. Nobody can play Pedal Steel quite like him.

  • That's Bernie Leadon playing next to Chris Hillman, right?

  • Didn't he invented the pedalsteel guitar? That 's what I've heard!

  • No he did not invent the Pedal Steel guitar but I guess he brought it to audiances that had never seen or heard one before

  • Remember Pete @ Palameno Club No. Hollywood...Good ol' dayz

  • Sneaky Pete was an amazing musician.

The last recordings of Sneaky are documented on Burrito Deluxe's rereleased CD/DVD "Disciples of the Truth". Check out the trailer on Luna Chica Records page. It's a must have for fans and collectors alike.

  • Garcia did some, however, Buddy Cage was, and still is the steel player for NRPS

  • Sneaky Pete- R.I.P. What a fantastic player- he used fuzz like no ones business and was super snakey- And very GUMBY!

  • Just a personal opinion, but I always thought Pete Kleinow's playing sounded out of tune! Well at least he sure used some weird and wonderful chord progressions! :-)

    Nice style though. :-)

  • Just watched a video outlining all the things that Pete Kleinow did down the years - besides playing great PSG. Hope he'll forgive me for being one ignorant SOB!

  • Wonderful clip. Going into my faves.

  • GUMBY!!!!

  • Who the fuck keeps giving all the nice comments thumbs down! Here comes mine! YOU'RE A FUCKING DOUCHEBAG!

  • by the way,who played peddal steel for the

"New riders of the purple sage"?

  • I think Jerry Garcia played pedal steel for the New Riders.

  • jerry garcia played on the first new riders album but after that buddy cage took over the steel to me his best work was on gypsy cowboy

  • What an era for country-rock pedal steel players! The early 70's had Sneaky Pete Kleinow, Rusty Young and let's not forget the incomprable Jeff "Skunk" Baxter's work with Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers. His pedal steel solo on "South City Midnight Lady" is still one of the most beautiful moments in all of 70's music.

  • Wow, I love Pete best. Something about his touch.

  • And don`t forget about Ralph Mooney... R.I.P!

    -Waylon RULES-

  • god bless sneaky pete the best steel player i ever heard

  • You obviously never heard Rusty Young of Poco then! : )

  • now let me see he sounds kinda familar is he the steel player that the buffalo springfield brought in and then done that cut for poco called el tonto de nadie, regresa

  • after richey furay left poco didn't rusty take poco thru many great albums

  • Yeah, Richie and Jim formed Poco with Rusty when the Springfield broke up. Rusty is the only member to have been in poco from the start and still doing it now! He is awesome, played the steel like an organ and through a leslie speaker and stuff for an innovative sound. Check out a vid on here called 'Poco - nature of love' from 'Marisha4sure', great steel solo

  • YOU ARE A RUSTY DUNG, POCO SHMOKO

  • sjwj1949 god bless sneaky pete the best steel player i ever heard

Agreed. He had the nicest touch of any.

  • Sing it Bernie !!!!!

  • PRIMO!!

  • Thanks for posting! RIP Sneaky Pete....

One of my favorite FBB songs!

  • Great!!! More clips of the FBB please.

  • Part II

I found out I could get in free, as long as I went w/ my coworker who had 2 free tickets awaiting her at will call.

Wow. Life is good. So, we dated for a while, and I quickly learned she owned a pedal steel she couldn't play, but bought because of the sound that both Sneaky Pete and Jerry Garcia [N.R.P.S.] made with it.

I would've done the same thing, had I the money back then.

    RIP, Sneaky Pete Kleinow.

  • I remembered when I moved to L.A. from Baltimore. Working in the Music Biz, my 1st month on the job I asked how I could get tickets to see what was left of the Flying Burrito Bros., when I learned they would be at The Troubadour in Hollywood. Yeah, it was the Flying Again tour, and only Sneaky Pete and Chris Ethridge remained from the original band, but I still had to see Sneaky Pete play his magic on Pedal Steel.

  • Sneaky Pete also worked on the Gumby shows, not sure what he did, but he did it! With his pony-pal, Pokey too!

  • bless you sneaky! top of the class, always.

  • RIP Sneaky Pete

  • Sneaky Pete just died-my respects for one of the greatest steelers of all time.

  • Rest in peace Sneaky Pete...your playing will always be an inspiration.

  • Rest In Peace Sneaky Pete .. his tone is still one of the best sad day..

  • Great clip!!! Just blows me away!!! Too bad about Sneaky. My God, are we all getting that old, oh boy! I hope the new administration will allow stem cell research. Sneaky Pete shouldn't have to forget even one of his ultra cool and brilliant solos.

  • Bernie Leadon on guitar.

  • Nice One! Is this Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett waaay before 'It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere"?

  • Great video! You should put Gram Parsons in the tags -- he's not in this clip but it's one of his songs and his fans would like it. BTW, sad news: Sneaky Pete has Alzheimers and is in a care facility.

  • thanks for Uploading the Burritos Bros! from where this comes from??

  • Its from the Bob Smeaton movie Festival Express, 1970 i think off the top of my head..
