Can you tell me what "type" of Marigolds these are? All the ones I've grown from seeds are over a foot tall. I want some that are short like yours but can't find them.
@GardenOfImagination - Thank you for posting this - you've saved me hours of seemingly unnecessary work! For years now, I've been pealing open the old, dead flowers, getting the seeds, and, then, planting them into tiny trenches I'd dug, and, they've grown well! Now, I literally have "THOUSANDS" of marigold seeds! I give them away to everyone!
I didn't know that the seeds could simply be 'dropped' onto the top of the soil!?!? Thank you for this helpful and work-saving video! :)
@justonemorename I'm not a great gardener by any means... but Blackeyed susans probably have their flower heads turn into seeds in the center of the flower. Not sure though.
Who is this Catfish4975, its not true and if its true, why did he not give the Chapter and Verse in Deuteronomy in the Bible.
Anyway I just wont to Thanks you for the video because I brought some Mexican Marigold and it was expensive and it would be good to save some seeds. Thanks once again!!!!!!
I use human poop for compost. It works really well and provides all of my Marigolds with the necessary nutrients they require. The best way to do this is to keep a 5 gallon bucket partially filled with soil in your bathroom. About once a week, instead of taking a dump in the toilet, take a dump in the bucket and then cover with more soil. Put any used toilet tissue in the regular toilet. When the bucket is full I mash it up with an old broom stick and set it in the sun to cure.
Oh no. It does a wonderful job of providing the best balance of nutrients. Human shit is completely neutral so it never burns, except for when it is coming out of you after a night of eating jalepenos. I've been doing this for years. Shat is has more nutrients per pound that any other fertilizer, which is why it smells so awful when you take a dump. After you let it rot in the bucket in full sun for a week or two the smell goes away. I'm working on a video on how to do it.
Well, you obviously don't know it all and you are obviously a wasteful liberal. The Christ gave us fecal matter of all kinds for our benefit, and human waste (feces, diarrhea) are loaded with nutrients. Thats why is stinks so awfully bad when you take a dump. Compost from humans grows the best food crops around. The Jews have been doing it forever. It was taught to them by Christ himself in the Deuteronomy. Look it up. Its there.

I really have to say this lady is stating the obvious and I just don't see the point of this vid.
Marigold seeds by theway are best planted in slightly acidic soil.

Would you have any clue as to how to harvest Dahlia seeds from its flowers? BTW, great video about the Marigold seeds. You rock.

@MrPCbytes Not sure, but I would guess those are sort of like sunflowers and the seeds are in the center of the flower.

This fertilizer doesn't burn the plants? I know the chicken poo needs a year or so to sit before using.
