and the contestant winning the bonus in the pilot is Maggie Brown, who appeared on CBS Joker's Wild, Second Chance(pilot), Press your Luck(pilot and series) and Wipeout(series), and possibly a few others.,
@zachhoran I think I remember seeing her inside The Encyclopedia Of TV Gameshows 3rd Edition where her and Tom were getting ready to run the gaunlet. I am pretty sure it was her, but I don't have my copy available to confirm it.

Howard Wilson was the Whew! champion who won seven games. His winning seven games may have caused them to change the rule to being undefeated after five wins,. Alan LUsher was the Double Dare(Trebek) champion. Both competed on J!, Howard Wilson during the first Trebek week(he lost), and Alan Lusher I believe lost to Mark Leinwand(Tic Tac Dough and Press Your Luck champion)
Whew was on before I was even born! I was born in 1981!

Even though "Whew!" seemed like a fun show, it replaced a classic in the process, "Match Game".
