@DemonicMidget As someone who has cycled through Manhattan many, many times, I know that with hundreds of cars roaring by, NYC buses are comparably slient. Ingrid could save herself a lot of hassle by riding with traffic, but on the left. I remember really resenting 'bladers in our new (in the 80's) bike lanes. Now as a fledgling inline skater not yet ready for traffic, I feel kind of torn :-)

I biked behind this really hot chick for about a mile, who was zooming on blades down Lexington from about 45th street to 23d last night. She was going much faster than me. (Admittedly I wasn't trying to pass her, I wanted to look at her from behind.) She did it with such style though, she made it look so effortless. I was all nerded up on my bike with helmet and goggles, lights and shit, she was just wearing shorts, tank top and had a handbag.

I don' agree with her skating against traffic.I cover some of the same strecth of turf as she does on my commute by bike from Staten Island (ia SI Ferry)--I pass the Waterside Plaza complex, go over the same narrow path parallel to the FDR as she does and have to go on 1st Ave by the heliport. I've been musing about whether I am ready to make the leap from bike to rollerblades.
