Jason gives so much more than Peter ever did~~~~and Bill has always been a true musician..Met them at a party in Miami beach after show with some beautiful, talented musicians...I love these ,"real" people.......
@wsealy02 Not many people know who Cetera is? 95% of the Chicago songs played on the radio have him on vocals you assclown!! But nobody knows who he is? Idiot!
@muhdikjohnson2 If you honestly believe Jase wants to sound like Peter you need your head reading! He's not a 5 year old you idiot.A great singer in his own right-Not in Peters shadow.
Peter Cetera, as a dad myself I don't blame you for a second for choosing to be with your young child rather tour than a hectic touring schedule..but how much better would this sound with him there, sorry Jason..can't put a square shape in a round hole..this and Chicago biggest hits were sealed with Cetera..Bill sounds great here and the band have still got it..one of the biggest missed opportunities was for the guys not to bury the hatchet and reunite..would have been magic..even to this day..
A question for all of you fair weather fans who don't like Jason Scheff; who would take his place? Any suggestions? Obviously, the rest of the group is really sold on him. His tenure with the band is a good bit longer than Cetera's. Too many fans live in the past. Cetera is history, and, by might I add, his own choosing. Quit lamenting what will never be and just enjoy a extremely successful rock band that still rocks after all these years. Why listen or bitch if you don't like it?
This is a decent rendition of this song. Bill sounds good as he did in the original with Peter Cetera. Jason sound ok to pretty good. HOWEVER, nothing beats Cetera's version. Unfortunately, Jason butchers up every other version of PC'S songs. Jason just doesn't have the singing abiltiy that PC has. Time to hang it up, Jason. Sorry to say that but it's so obvious.
I saw the Doobie Brothers and Chicago live in concert last year. No words can describe the energy that both bands brought to the stage, alone and together. They have that special kind of music that never gets old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jason and Bill just kick ass. Their voices are awesome. Yes Peter was great, BUT, Jason, man you bring it! Their two voices compliment each each and sound so great together. This brings tears to my eyes and brings me back a few years.
@mmshortfuse I AGREE MAN - They had a hard time for a while replacing him, BUT THEY DID !!! And I TOTALLY AGREE THE LEAD SINGER THAT REPLACED CETERA, IS AT LEAST AS GOOD, IF NOT EVEN BETTER !! And, "Oh, by the way: Anybody know where Cetera is now ???" - LOL !!! He might still be workin' on that "Solo Career" - LOL - YEAH, GOOD MOVE, PETE !!
@pincus74 So "Pincus74", in other words, YOU SUPPORT THE GUY THAT SUED THIS BAND & tried to PREVENT them from performing any of the tracks that THE BAND WROTE, BUT LET CETERA "(A BAND MEMBER)" SING ?? ---- JUST TRYING TO UNDERSTAND??.... IS THAT WHAT UR SAYING ?????? I'LL TAKE AN EDUCATED GUESS & SAY THAT "74" WAS UR BIRTH YEAR ??? OR 5 YEARS AFTER THE ORIGINAL BAND'S FIRST ALBUM WAS RELEASED ?? PROVING THAT YOU DON'T KNOW "DINK", ABOUT THIS BAND !!! SO....WASSUP ????
@pincus74 LOL! Don't worry buddy, just go back to the 68/69 double-album, (Volumes II & III) and listen to some of their REALLY great stuff. That was when they were full of piss and vinegar, and were taking the country by storm. One of my favorite "B" rolls of theirs is on that album. I never hear it played on ANY radio station. It's called "Fancy Colours" . Then, there's 25 or 6 t0 4, and countless others. Well worth the investment if you REALLY want to hear their most-creative sound.
Chicago, in that era, say basically 1986 to 1994, was as good as ever, if not better, than any era before or since. Of those years, 1993 was the Super Bowl, World Championship, Indy 500, Masters, year of absolute highmark impeccable musicianship. They have always been great. These years in genreal, '93 in particular, are untouchable.
@3338MAN@3338MAN W-R-O-N-G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU re soooooooooooo fucking far off, yo, it aint even funny !!! Chicago's BEST EVER STUFF WAS WITH TERRY KATH !!!!! 1969 - 1978-ish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCKIN DO UR HOMEWORK AND CATCH THE FUCK UP BEFORE YOU MAKE STUPID COMMENTS ON THE NET FOR THE WORLD TO SEE !!! - FUCKIN' BEVIS !!!!!!!!!!!! I'M guessing that you don't even know or HEARD OF "TERRY KATH - UH-mmmmm - HE WAS THE GUY THAT STARTED THE BAND KNOWN AS "CHICAGO" !!
BINGO! I was a junior in H.S. when Terry died. I was told the news by a classmate, and went home thinking "that's it, they're done!" But Peter and (to a lesser extent) Robert Lamm stepped up and saved the band by shifting their vocal sound. Then Peter had to ruin a great thing by walking away from one of the best Brass Rock & Roll bands to ever record music. Talk about egos? While he had some hits over the years, it ain't him fans like us are paying to see now; are they?
Tris has been married twice. He is not gay, but one of hottest drummers with a personality that make you feel you are a longtime friend. Bill sounds great here with Jason.
This may be the best live recording of "ANY" song the group has ever done. I've seen them live almost every year since 1974 (Chicago VII). The vocals, music, the sound....everything was perfect!
Coooool, I like this song, amazing musicians, this quality it´s free Cetera, wow, this is a band, nthing to see with El recodo, salutes from Metro Chihuahua´s Mexico
I used to sit in the bar all alone at the end of the night
drinking whiskey to this song for 4 months at a highway ranch hotel in Arizona. I had just split up with my wife of 4 years and I was going though a huge divorce case. She took everything and ran off with a toyboy while I was left to "pick up the pieces". Took me a good 5 years just to get over it. The only difference was that it was NOT an illusion that I CHOSE to create :(
@phileustace ...There is always a light after dark...Keep on striving!!!Life is beautiful, full of ups and downs...but those are just ingredients for the fullest
@LeonNizam Finally! Somebody on this planet with some damn common sense when it comes to this band. I have followed the band since CTA. I loved Cetera, but he did what he felt he had to do and so did Chicago. What many naysayers don't realize is Scheff has been with them longer than Cetera was! Experience them live before your judge. Chicago still rocks!!!!
Hahaz ^_^ LOL.... Thanks for that. I'm sure there are still many more guys out there who has the same mindset as us. No matter whatever happens, Chicago will still be and always be Chicago. ^_^
@jamesskb Chicago still rocks.. but PC left Chicago in '84. Chicago has been a cover band of itself since, without Kath & Cetera. Scheff's ok, he's not Cetera. still Chicago with PC & Scheff should be in that R&R Hall of Fame.
@jamesskb yeah, but if you're imitating someone else you're never going to get props. Everytime I hear him sing, I begin the comparison. I can't help it. Most people can't. Dude was delt those cards. oh well. I like the other two singers because they sound unique and I don't think about Cetera.

I found out a little too late that the "girl" I fell in love with really had a penis. I was so in love that I sucked it long and hard, got into the habit of blowing him/her, and then he/she left me :o(
After all this years. Chicago... from Peter Cetera to Jason Scheff.... its still the best pop group ever!!! Eventhough Peter Cetera has left and start a legendary solo career, Chicago still sounds great, amazing!!!
If you're addicted to a person you better not let her/him go,think a lot before you do make a final decision...But if it's destiny leads you, nothing to do with it but try to long another one...Although at first it would be hard to move on...endless fight esp when you live alone...hard habit but you need to break it then move on...you can go on,,,life must go on!!!Don't look back, look forward!!!
Gene I never want to break my habit of you I need you. You are everything ti me and I will die loving you. I am wholeheartedly addicted to you and only you. I want to spend the rest of my life showing you just how devoted I am to you.
After being separated from the Love of my life for 30 years (very long story), we reunited 2-1/2 months ago and he sent me this video. He confessed that every time he heard this song, he thought of me, and of us. Now, we're back together, and it's forever, and neither one of us has to worry about breaking this habit ever again. (thank you, my Love!)
Thank you Thalysiakeuh .... he is the most romantic man ever. He's asked me to marry him and we've decided on this song as our first dance. Hope we can make it through without crying !!! ; )
My guess, first off, no one is making money off of it. Secondly, I've purchased videos from watching segments on You Tube. When you look at it that way, this is FREE advertisement.
I could not give my heart to him.....it belong to you....i ended my lie....for the love I still have for you.I was hiding my love for you and moving on.But that night when we seen each other at the game ,it must of done something to both of us.Becasue we ended up seeing each other again. The smiles back spoke volumes.
I disagree. Jason is good in the studio but not live from what I have seen of these Youtube live performances. Actually I'm a little shocked at how good he isn't live. He seems to be strained & tired. Instrumentally they're terrific & that keyboard player with the long blonde hair is a great singer
this video shows him at his best though. If you watch any videos of this concert all of Jason's vocals are dead on. Listen to the one of Happy Man from this show; it sounds nearly like Cetera's no joke.
I think that the early 90's gave us the best versions of Chicago's ballads... Champlin has a very powerful, soulful voice, and Jason's range is near perfect. The entire band just has a "bigger" sound than they do now.
This was a very good rendition of the song. You can tell here though that Jason brings a different type of element than Cetera did but he hit the notes. This is not an easy song to sing. This time Champlin didn't add way too much ad-lib which gets annoying at times to me. BTW, did yall see Tris Imboden's look? He looks like a girl! haha. Love this song and band!
@TheBeaugraham Tris has been married twice. He is not gay, but one of hottest drummers with a personality that make you feel you are a longtime friend. Bill sounds great here with Jason.
Wow. The lead singer isn't very good.

My guess, first off, no one is making money off of it. Secondly, I've purchased videos from watching segments on You Tube. When you look at it that way, this is FREE advertisement.
Your thoughts?

I could not give my heart to him.....it belong to you....i ended my lie....for the love I still have for you.I was hiding my love for you and moving on.But that night when we seen each other at the game ,it must of done something to both of us.Becasue we ended up seeing each other again. The smiles back spoke volumes.

I disagree. Jason is good in the studio but not live from what I have seen of these Youtube live performances. Actually I'm a little shocked at how good he isn't live. He seems to be strained & tired. Instrumentally they're terrific & that keyboard player with the long blonde hair is a great singer
Jay435 2 years ago 2
this video shows him at his best though. If you watch any videos of this concert all of Jason's vocals are dead on. Listen to the one of Happy Man from this show; it sounds nearly like Cetera's no joke.

JAy435, that keyboard player with the long blonde hair is actually Bill Champlin. They picked him up in 1981.

I think that the early 90's gave us the best versions of Chicago's ballads... Champlin has a very powerful, soulful voice, and Jason's range is near perfect. The entire band just has a "bigger" sound than they do now.
john12178 3 years ago
@john12178 your kidding right no 1990's Chicago ballad can touch 1974's Wishing You Were Here

one doesn't really know what he got until it's gone. Kudos Jason!

I Like This Version:Because Bill Champlin Make Sound Awesome,he very awesome singer,I Like Cetera voice as well as Scheff, they do sound like alike.

me,too bill, i love you in this version, thank you.

He looks like a girl! haha. Love this song and band!
musicispower84 4 years ago
@musicispower84 maybe Tris is gay haha im actually not kidding Bill Champlin great as always Scheff has to loose the whineing

This has been flagged as spam show
@TheBeaugraham Tris has been married twice. He is not gay, but one of hottest drummers with a personality that make you feel you are a longtime friend. Bill sounds great here with Jason.
