Your post is misleading. The investigation in the UK found that Jones did in fact violate the Freedom of Information Act, but that the statute of limitations had expired. The is not quite "exonerated".

Further, these investigations were done by politicians, and as such cannot be taken at face value.

Read pages 24-35 of the House of Commons report for a discussion of FOI requests and the emails. Then read the conclusions on page 50-51. You will see there is some criticism of the CRU's attitude towards FOI requests, but "The focus on Professor Jones and CRU has been largely misplaced" and regarding dishonesty "..we consider that

there is no case to answer."

Read it. Read it all.

To believe these politicians would want to cover up corruption or fraud, and that they somehow managed to do it in full public view takes a lot of imagination.
