  • Damn, at 14. That had to leave an impression. I was lucky and knew the promoter's son so got to use an air condition house on the fairground property for showers. Yes, there was allot of great music.

  • went too.. from Texas. at 14... me and a buddy. I remember we could not find any shade and the life was full... to the top.... and I remember the flags and the bands, and the women.. they were great as were the EAGLES, TOP and TED....There was no control... too many kids

  • Yep, I have some good memories of the whole event. Love, drugs, and allot of Sun. The Hippie days!!

  • I went to the 35th Anniversary they had in Sedalia in 2009. I wasn't born when the 1974 event took place, but my parents went and had a few stories that interested me. This is some of the best footage I've seen of the festival, I've searched extensively for a while. I even did a internet radio show about the festival in 2009. I found a Wolfman Jack audio commercial and the ad posted in Rolling Stone. Crazy times from what I hear, I still hear stories about it.

  • That would not be a problem. Keep me in touch.

  • Well, I had a good time. Some hazy bits for sure lol

  • I heard festival was on Midnight Special. Anyone ever seen it?

  • Great times. I remember when America played the sun was so hot they stated they could not keep their guitars in tune.

  • @wavygr That's amazing. I hadn't heard that. I don't doubt it. That was one incredible weekend. I'll never never forget it. It's cool to be able to converse with others that were there. Just think, when we were all enjoying that weekend....these home computers were not even around yet. At least I never knew about 'em.

  • @WickedTornado I remember on one night Wolfman Jack said welcome to the Midnight Special. I don't remember which night but an old friend told me he saw me on tv I was up front by OD tent dancing with a chick on a golf cart so it was possible he saw me.

  • The blonde was Chris Fischer. Lives down south now. She was a looker for sure.

  • @TheGarbonzoband Hope she's had a good life and kept her looks. Thanks for the info.

  • @TheGarbonzoband Hello. I'm working with Dustbin Film on a documentary of the festival. I'd love to talk to you about it when you have a free moment.

  • @jeffersonlujin Is Dustbin Films still working on a doc. of this festival? I was there in '74, for the 3 days. Drove down in a '64 Ford Fairlane 2dr. from Nebr. Oh God, soooo many INTENSE memories. Stayed high the entire time, from the drive to Sedalia and back home again. Nowdays, that would prob. kill me! Anyhow, Dustbin Films called me prob. a year ago for an interview, but I hadn't time. Now I'd love to. How can I contact them now, please? A shout out to all fellow-Sedalia campers!!!

  • Who is the band playing at 6:00? See more family, friends, pics and videos at Ozark Music Festival on Facebook.

  • OK...I guess I'll make post #3. I don't mean to gab away here...but I gotta ask. Who is the blonde at the start of this vid? Related to the person who posted this? Please tell me that she is alive and well somewhere...has had a good life so far, and has retained her beauty and figure. And if you see her, tell her a fellow camper from Tucson, Az. asked about her..and thank her for helping me bring back soooo many wonderful memories of that insane weekend. Remember how rough it got late Sunday?

  • From WickedTornado part 2) But you poor gals, you gotta use those porta potties. I opened one after the first day and about threw up in disgust. There is another vid on YouTube I just looked at, and I'll be damned if I'm not walking right in front of the camera for about 5 seconds. It's me..for sure. Long hair..haha. I really mean this, that event was probably in the top 5 most incredible things that's happened to me in my life, and I'm almost 57. And thanks to things like Sedalia..a YOUNG 57!

  • I was 19 and have nothing but fond memories. I remember the eagles introducing "Youre already gone" referring to Nixon being served with papers. StevenTyler drinking Jack Daniels on stage. Someone was selling boonsfarm for 2 bucks a bottle while i was tripping and watching someone. It was cold and the best wine Ive ever had. Wolfman Jack and cameras were there. That film has to be somewhere. Bought schlitz tall boys for 50 cents in campground Ted Nugent, Skynyrd,,cactus. The bands were awesome

  • I was there too. God it was hot, and naked. unfortunately my camera was stolen out of the van so all my photos were gone.

  • haha, yes! My mom and Aunt were there...I sure missed out.

  • haha, yes! My mom and Aunt were there...I sure missed out.

  • Hello. Sure you can use it. I knew the promoters son, Reed Shawn back then. I'll look for it on Facebook

  • @TheGarbonzoband I was there too! You know, believe it or not, I'm just not too familiar with Facebook. To access the Ozark Music Festival....would I just "keyword" that once I get into Facebook? I would LOVE to see more of this. Oh, I miss those days. Being 57 as I am now, that festival would probably kill me now...and I'm still pretty damn fit (makes shape of praying hands and says "thank you Lord"), but I don't think I got 2 hours of sleep those entire 3 days. Can U say "white-crosses?"

  • What a joyful video & acct of what went on that wkend! Thx for sharing your family video, it's good to see a happy one! I created a FB page for this Festival, I hope it's ok to add this to it..if not, PM me & I'll take it off. The OMF WAS filmed, but all the films were turned over to the MO Courts, as a result of the law suit against the promoters, for damage to the fairgrounds. I had a GREAT time, but then I wasn't stoned beyond belief. Sure it was hot, but I'm an Okie and used to it in July!

  • Yes, it was one heck of a festival. I made and sold feather ear rings. There was one big mess when it was over.Knew the promoter's son so was able to use a shower in a house on the grounds. That was a real relief since it was hot as hell.Fond memories

  • I was there, and it baffles me that it became the largest top-stars rock festival that no one's ever heard of! With TV personality Wolfman Jack as the MC, I long hoped there might be an album and perhaps a movie, but....nooooo, never happened! Very little historical record survived it seems. There is some info a this site below, and I've written my story there (see the one by Daryl). See the Ozark Music Festival. com site. Enjoyed seeing your video!

  • @dplunk552 Well hello fellow campers!! Glad to see that others made it out of there alive too! I was 19, from Tucson, Az. Three of us drove down from our little college dorm in Nebraska and had the frickkin' time of our lives! It's funny, I've sought out as many YouTube Sedalia Festival vids as possible, and almost down to a man..EVERYBODY remarks about that heat. Oh God, wasn't it awful. And I'm from Az...I can take heat. So glad I'm a guy, we can pee and other in the fields. But you poor gals!
