  • Recent Cosworth engines in a nutshell.

  • Has anyone else noticed that the helmet cam looks to the apex slightly?

  • Your gear shifting is horrible, your on the rev's nearly every gear..would explain why

  • u are driving like my grandmother...

  • How did that happen?

  • it looks like the brakes locked up

  • Driver: Shit my engine broke down What the F**k

  • cool.xDDDD.

  • this game needs a lot better physics. it should be realistic and not a fucking arcade game

  • went down gears to fast i done it earlier

  • @iaincotty yea, deffinatly to fast gearing down, from 7th gear down to 1st without any transition between the shift, recipe for the engine to blow out lol

  • Comment removed

  • Nice job shifting! Cough....

  • did anyone else notice the DRS wing open without anyone within a second of him?

  • @racinghotshot The 1 sec rule only applies to the race...

  • @AndreRStrand oh yeah, sorry didn't notice that.

  • @AndreRStrand Thank you and don't forget never loose to a Computer... Their easy!

  • You changed Gear down from 7 - 5 in 2.1 Secs that's too quick!

  • I can't believe you're slower than Mark Webber. On F1 2011 I completed Season 1 and finished with 475 Points winning every race! Constructors= Williams- 477 I love Williams they lead me to Victory and winning my first ever Constructors title and Drivers Championship!

  • You ruined the engine

  • yo se como hacer eso colocas el coche en manual y cambias rápido las velocidades

I know how to do that you put the car in manual and quick change speeds

  • u can only do it in practice and qualifying :(

  • The team in the pit should had said be aware the engine has an failure change gear early "short shift" or something like that on the radio. That would have been realistic.

  • @rfn95 Everyone, Please Thump up to his comment so Codemasters might spot this.

I will drop this in their F1 game forum, because the developers are actively posting there.

He's right and I want a more realistic F1 game.

Just like: When the race starts, you don't have a chance to warm up your tires, instead you are forced to race without the realistic heating up.

    Thanks in advance

  • wow ur rite.. i can actually see the quality of a kers fail thanks!

  • You shift down to soon, engine overrevs and breaks down!

  • I experienced the same problem in the very first outlap of British GP's Practice session, but I managed to avoid it and thus fool the game, by starting my Practice session with the flying lap (not outlap)! :P

  • who the fuck switch from gear 7 immediately to gear 1

  • hmmmm wats that smoke? eh dw he willl be fine...

  • yup, that's a 2011 Williams!

  • Perez is 1st??

  • @4everlambo It's a practice session??

  • @4everlambo In the early races of career, perez is a beast! I've not seen him finish outside the top 5 in the first 6 races :S

  • @4everlambo its practise, everyone can be 1st for a moment...

  • @4everlambo

Perez will be first in Ferrari 2013. =)

  • better graphic definitely needed

  • Shifting - You are doing it wrong.

  • Looks more like a gearbox blowout to me. I've never seen a car blow out an engine and lock up the rears.

Although all the smoke coming from the car prior to the crash was probably the engine.

  • @AshHill07 I've checked with a mate of mine whos a mechanic and I was wrong. Turns out if you're off the clutch and the engine blows it does lock up the wheels.

  • I'd be worried if my Box didn't tell me anything about the ominous white smoke coming out behing my car..

  • 1:26 Take that Tanner Foust!

  • 1:33 lap time thats shit iv done a 1:20

  • @ICEstrike100 attention whore.

  • ironic didnt the williams cosworth engine seize up in last nights race?

  • I've had my HRT, Virgin, and Williams car all blow their engines in that exact spot. Must be a Cosworth problem. =P

  • @TheTrueCallen mine hasnt in any race

  • LOL

  • how you get an engine failure?

  • @marcusRBR by over reving like a bitch lol

  • what screen recorder did you use

  • @boltee112 And how you know he didn't try to break the car?

  • @boltee112 2nd mistake - Changing gears up too late

  • LOL

  • Put on 240p

    Fullscreen

    Play

    Quickly shift to 1080p

    Old-New comparsion at it's best.

  • cosworth engine at its finest

  • would have been cool if it happened at 0:43 just like real life!

  • Can you blow an engine with automatic transmission?

  • @Cherfan1998 How? I get so close but it never blows up

  • Jesus how do you get 1080p! What do you record with???

  • 1080p pretty sweet

  • @xGH0ST11x its the way the car is designed, the engine is drives the wheels directly so if it blows the rear wheels lock up causing a spin

  • /watch?v=akRwbbF8y2g

  • iracing

  • I'm glad this can happen in 2011. Otherwise last year it was a joke, the engine never blew even if you reved it on 1st for half an hour!

  • To fast on the down shift to slow shifting up.

  • Im loving the PS3 framerate on this one...

    Great graphics for 2003

  • @DIGITALSCREAMS first this is PC, and second the frame rate look fine to me

  • @DIGITALSCREAMS This is the pc version.... Don't you see the "F1", "F2", "F3" keys on the replay?!

The original game probably runs more smoothly than this... the framerate sucks because he recorded this

  • how engone blow?? i mean i drive professional and never engine blow out!! sorry for my english

  • Fantastic!!! They didn't put that in 2010 and try to compensate with a huge lot of flat tires every race. Now that you can actually get your engine blown up (like in a very few games) real racers will step out of the rest, or you'll just have to use automatic mode.

  • well are you trying to blow up the engine or cant you shift?:P

  • so, in every vid ive seen of engine failures, they always spin out. why cant they just have a little wiggle and then coast? the spinning out seems a little ridiculous.

  • Go Williams :)

  • should I get this game?

  • @NottinghamForest22

I got it looking for a challenge, it can be a difficult game and it isn't just about coming 1st every time, but getting points and sometimes just trying to finish. For me, I got it today and it was defo worth it

  • @Siegefreed I think I will get it, huge F1 fan.

  • @NottinghamForest22 Im a fan of sorts, wouldnt say im a huge fan, but its definitely some good fun, worth your time if you're a fan - one of those games that is worth it more if you're a fan, perhaps less if you've never watched it. So yeah, get it id say

  • @NottinghamForest22

I am a very huge fan of this game. Like Siegefreed said, you can't compete for the win every race. Bit I would recommend the game. I didn't play F1 2010 so I can't compare what it was like.

  • you were going in to the limiter too much and changing down before slowing the car down using the brake......BOOOMMMM!!

  • Comment removed

  • its good that they have it in the game...nice to know that i cant get away with being hard on the gear box...i love the realism of random failures!

  • well the egineer got fired: he could atleast tell him his engine was smoking

  • you're driving way too slowly, being smooth doesnt necessarily win the race, especially when you take the first cicane at melbourne in second gear *facepalm*

  • Your downshifts are wild, no wonder the engine blew up eventually lol

  • why don`t see you the smoke behind :D

  • nice quality

    jokes

  • @frippy72 Try 1080p...

  • @frippy72 Fail lol

  • @frippy72 fucking hipster

  • @frippy72 FAIL :P

  • Comment removed

  • @frippy72 You got downs?

  • I know you've heard this B 4: You've BLOWN THE ENGINE!

  • With those gear changes it was bound to blow. Lol

  • The car span because he downshifted too quickly and locked the rear wheels

  • why would an engine failure cause the car to spin out? i've never seen that happen..........the car usually slows down and grinds to a halt in real life............

  • @kc0793 Try downshifting on your bicycle really quickly from gear 6 to 1 at high speeds, and you'll know how much it hurts. An engine works in the same way.

  • @Master1906 I'm not talking about that. I'm asking why would the car spin out due to an engine failure? An engine failure means the power source of the vehicle dies. It doesnt affect the gearbox, drivetrain, suspension, etc. Why would the car become unstable and spin out in this case?

  • @kc0793 Let me ask you this question. When an engine dies, it's rpm drops right? Quite rapidly you would imagine? If the engine is still connected to the driveshaft which it most likely is, the rpm of the engine is much lower than the rpm of the wheels so it tries to slow down the wheels which therefore locks the wheels and causes it to spin out the car. You get me? It would be like stepping hard on the brakes but instead using the failing engine.

  • @Master1906 That's the one. It's like a severe case of engine braking.

  • @whitecobra84 oh oops!

  • RE: brakes are at optimum temperature, keep pushing

    Barrichello: Ok

    "Bang!"

    Barrichello: wtf was that?

RE: Oh I forgot to tell you that the engine was about to let go.

Barrichello: Thanks for telling me that now!

  • @KidderAdam lol

  • @KidderAdam It's Maldonado's car, not Bazza's!

  • @KidderAdam Yeah, I wonder why the Stupid Engineer didn't warn! In an older F1 game of 2003 (F1 Challenge 99-02) the engineer tells you "Your engine is overheating! Shift Less!"

  • what game is it?

  • @jeekilla1 what dou you think... its the best game of 2011 F1 2011!!

its in the title if you can read

  • @elscapownz great thnx

  • @elscapownz great thnx

  • @elscapownz great thanks

  • @elscapownz great thanks

  • Does this just randomly happen if you keep using the same engine or can it happen anytime?

  • Brakes are fine tyres are fine o but your engine is about to blow in 10 seconds Good Luck !

  • @TheAirsoftmadman You made my day!

  • Comment removed

  • you suck

  • Your engine is about to blow up, but don't worry because the brakes are at optimum temperature.

  • @ROONTANG Yeah, the race engineer is a genius like last year :p

  • Have to drive maual gears. Downshift quick or late and your engine blows

  • how did you do that?

  • what a fuck!!! :-O

  • I to mi się podoba w nowej wersji 2011;D, dużo szczegółów ominęli w poprzedniej wersji 2010

  • WOWWWWW i hope the AI is like that aswell tho they hardly ever crash or blow up in 2010, can't w8 to get this!!

  • it was gearbox failiure cos rear wheels locked that why it spun

  • I'm glad people can no longer abuse the unrealistic downshifts as it was a big advantage online.

  • the car toke revenge on you for abusing the engine....

  • yup, downshifting like that is a pretty bad idea.

  • Loving the bang when it goes lol!

  • @kevincali

I am sure i will do just fine in 2011......;)

  • try not to downshift so quickly..

  • @icey1921

in real F1 you cant blow an engine by downshifting too early due to the built in ECU...

cracks me up how clueless the average F1 2011 gamer is about this sport they claim to love

  • @chinmassager

Half right mate, if a driver selects a lower gear the ECU will change when the lower gear will give (e.g.) 17.5k rpm. Now if the engine is a bit old, by changing down as early as possible the engine could blow due to the stresses experienced in the downshift to the lower gear that revs the engine to 17.5k rpm, whilst still being under the control of the ECU.

Straw that broke the camel's back and all

  • Wait 1 second between each downshift? A reasonable speed of downshift would be about 1.5 seconds from 7th gear all the way to 1st, and 1 second wouldn't be massively fast. He's simply over-revving on pretty much all of his gears at some point and shifting down too many gears (turn one at Australia is 3rd gear not 1st for example). Love that failures are now in, but hope they only occur due to something that's your fault.

  • well mate... driving like that... what do u expect... ???

  • I hope you are kidding about 1 second between downshifts, do you know how long that is?

  • @pietrofantastic half a second then... was just trying to give an idea that you should not downshift as fast as you possible can. LOL of course you WOULD come to his defense because you also love to downshift as fast as possible. Im glad the coders of F1 2011 decided to penalize drivers who do not drive realistically. ;)

  • @pietrofantastic about 1 second

  • @pietrofantastic Yo pietro are you guys doing another online series this year? I watched the races on cadmuss' channel :)

  • You are downshifting way too fast for sure. You are also over revving quite often on the upshifts. Try to not ever hit the rev limiter and wait atleast 1 second between downshifts. You won't be quite as quick but you won't be blowing engines!

  • Downshifts are causing the problem :)

  • Absolutly loved the wording of the last comment. Gotta admit the guy is right tho.

Also lol at the race engineer "brakes at optimum temp". Oops forgot 2 tell u ur engine is shit hot tho!

Hope mechanical failures aren't too frequent. Coz this yr in F1 cars are a lot more reliable.

  • Watch 1st corner downshifts and at :55 you rev the piss out of it...

    Maybe?
