icbm stages of launch, inital stage falls away and higher atmospheric stage begins with no streak? possibly? but i think an intercontinental would go alot lot higher straight up, unless its a cruise.
There is a scientist who said this missile was going to hit the sun, everyone discredited him and he was on the news for less then 5 min, But look now there is a huge solar flare, the biggest they have ever seen. At the missiles speed it would of taking it this long to reach the sun. If anyone finds the full interview let me know his name is Dr.abotet enyabum He worked for the USCRP
I live in Key West and I honestly have no idea what that is. The area where this "spaceship" is ejecting from is nothing but water. There is no land, no military bases, no airport, nothing.
@92kid1 It it purely perspective. Take a look at the following video ending v=HvLkgSajNGY
'Missile or Aircraft'
Just because it appears to be rising vertically does not mean that it is. Someone viewing it from 10 to 15 miles east or west of the location would simply see a contrail roughly parallel to the earth. It is amazing how people get fooled by sunlit contrails.
I've seen a few of these videos now showing basically the same thing... The interesting thing to me is that all of the videos have common traits. Number one is that the aircrafts in each case are headed northbound!!! Is this one headed northbound? Or am I backwards? About 5 vids I've seen like this all show the object traveling up and north.
This is excelent video! See mine of new years eve 2009 on the oposite side of the continent. IT's hard to tell, but this one looks like a fighter jet... Very similar effect though... After watching this vid a while it appears that the aircraft (and that's all I'm going to conclude is that it it an aircraft of some sort) takes on a horizontal path later in the vid. That indicates a plane. But did it appear to disappear into the sky (getting smaller and smaller, frozen in space?)
Good job, did you compare this with the one over Los Angeles? Identical with base plume and very similar which trajectory too. It is hard holding the camera for I have been in similar situations before filming mountain bike riding.
Its not smoke... it is definitely a plane leaving a contrail at sunset. If it was a missile, the minute the smoke stopped it would mean it's engine misfired and it would fall
@standauffish i didnt know plans launched straight up leaving plumes of smoke from the ground... interesting. Its actually dropping its "skirt" which is its main engine, it does this around 15 km. Then the secondary engine takes over. but prolly since its a dud they set it to do it lower than 15 km so they see it nd test it.
@feetfirstbaseball The plane is not 'launching' straight up... it is merely flying towards the camera man so it LOOKS like it is going up. The plume is wider at the horizon for the same reason the moon looks bigger when it is rising it's call perspective :D
But seriously... if you want to believe its a missile, be my guest. I just hope you never join the military LOL You might shoot down a passenger plane by mistake LMAO
achmed1: Holy crap achmed2: what? achmed3: I just re-read osama's emai achmed2: yes? achmed1: says take boat to east coast and launch achmed2: uh oh achmed3: I know achmed2: we're on west coast achmed1: I know achmed2: see if I ever use Microsoft Streets & Trips for directions again. achmed1&2: hahhahahhahaa achmed3: SILENCE! achmed3: WE WILL KILL YOU! someday... scene fades to black as all 3 achmeds sit in the boat, loling nefariously while re-arranging objects on a lego toy set
not a launch, just a jet draggin a pretty good contrail. These things can look like they're standing vertical..straight up because of the shape of the earth, and how long they can get.
seems to be visible too long for to really be a U.S. missile as the only 2 missiles that typically are "slow" are Harpoons and Tomahawks which usually fly low after launch and even those wouldn't loiter so long, so high
I think it's a SLBM (Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile) as far as I know the USN operates in the Florida Keys, I don't think NASA had ans STS mission the 1st.
idk if anybody says this but it seems like a space shuttle. and the pause of stream is the release of the rockets. and you see the bright escape of the atmosphere.
My wife and I were on Smather's Beach and saw this, a year ago today!! Even with binocs, we couldn't make out if it was a jet or a rocket!! Never did find out what it was. I agree with the comment about the dual contrails and thought it might be a Fighter on afterburners. Key West is one crazy place to spend New Years. Duval Street is something to see.
@steventerlis it isnt a dual trail, that is a refraction caused by the angle of the sun on the heat cone, you are seeing sunlight reflecting off the outer edge and the far inner edge of the cone. i would say this is definately an intermediate range sslm, that is why it has stayed within the atmoshpere, probably a trident missile being test fired at a target hulk in the middle on the north atlantic.
I was in key west for new years 2009 as well. It was a fantastic time and the keys are brilliant. The only thing that sucked was all the fags walking around on duval street making out with each other. But I seemed to have missed the missile launch!
Where were you guys located from that point of filming? Is that Sunset Key in the distance there? I first thought there was something crashing, but then notived the smoke going up like a trail. i watched until it disappeared. Then again, so did the other 400 people around me. I feel almost helpless knowing that I'll have no knowledge of it for the rest of my life.. hey, it was an interesting memory.
All I will say is that there is SO MUCH THAT YOU (AND I) DON'T KNOW.........From our government "protecting us" from the TRUTH, to the world governments being in direct contact with "OTHERS".......Yes, non-human.
Dam your son did a great job on video taping this!!! Near the end when he is zoomed in looks great thanks for posting. I remember when I was 12 and lived in broward county the time was about 4:00 pm I saw something like this traveling south down the coast of Florida.
methinks its too slow...right speed for a cruise missile but not trajectory but to low & slow for a ballistic missile..idk wht it is but i wd prolly lean towards a plane in an illusory set of circumstances giving the appearance of strange performance characteristics it could even be a powerful military jet maintaining subsonic speed, but w adequate available power to perform a sustained steep climb & maneuvers..kudos to u tho for having an open mind & sharp wit im sure dad is
smart & a cool guy but u def have more of the skeptical scientific process way of thinking which is great..dont lose that..if you approach everything with a lil bit of skepticism &strive to always acquire more CORRECT knowledge you'll find urself smarter than all ur friends..the beginning of wisdom is "I don't know" rather than an assertion you cannot prove...anywys, sorry to preach :) jus reminded me of myself 8-10 yrs back showing my dad up..lol..u like physic?
I was at the Officers club at Sigsbee point 12-31-08. I took pictures of this sunset. I saw the vertical plume and took pictures but it never occured to me it was a missle. There is a U.S. Weather station on Key West, maybe its a weather observation devise.
it don't matter who believes what shit people record, i think it's interesting that people actually are recording that and other things that are up in the sky! how else are we suppose to see, i thank you, also, did you check to see exactually where that smoke came from --friom the ground, i noticed some from your video that alot of smoke was at the bottom -thanks again
There should have been a good laugh the first time I posted this. Repost: That was Cuba's UFO program. It would appear them Cubans finally got it rebuilt after it crashed back in the early 60's. The sad thing is the only parts they had available to them were from a 1949 Packard Custom Eight Convertible and an old MiG-17 Fresco the Soviets left behind after the Cuban Missle Crisis.
Want to know what a launch traveling away from the setting sun actually looks like?Google "Atlantis launch plume edit". It is a picture from wikimedia. The lowest part of the trail is the darkest, it is in the earths' shadow. In the middle there is a small part that is orange and yellow. It is reflecting sunlight that has traveled through the atmosphere. The top of the trail is bright white. It is reflecting sunlight that has not gone through the atmosphere. This video looks totally wrong.
Another clue that this object is not gaining any significant altitude is that the trail gets darker as times goes on. In every sunset launch video or picture i have seen, the top end of the trail is bright white. The end of the trail is bright white because it is the highest part and is reflecting the sunlight that has not had to travel through the atmosphere. This includes launches heading away from the setting sun. The gain in altitued is greater than the travel downrange.
You were facing WSW towards sunset. What you saw were contrails (2 of them. one each side). It was a jet aircraft making them. It appeared vertical to you at first because at some point it was heading at you at high altitude (hence the contrails) from over the horizon. You did get one thing right though. It was a beautiful sunset that night and you captured it very well. NOT a Cuban nor a Russian, nor an American missile. Count on it.
everything that night played a part, the curvature of the earth, the sunset, the right amount of moisture in the air at 33,000ft. and the angle from which the video was shot(maybe). thomas airlines out of cancun, mexico headed for england, departed between 4:30 and 5:00 and would arrive england around 7:00 am the next morning. flying over key west at 33,000ft doing a ground speed of about 590. only aircraft at that alt. within about a thirty mile radius from key west.
Nice work, It was my birthday, I was driving on South Roosevelt Blvd. when I witnessed the beautiful sky. YOU DID A WONDERFUL JOB!!! Thank you, for now I can share with my family who dont live in this part of the world. Keep up the great work.
So, I used to see this stuff all the time when I was growing up in Seminole County. Especially at night. My dad and I would sit outside and talk at night and watch to see if NASA was going to launch anything, cause that's the direction it came from. And that's almost what this looks like, the difference being the billowing of the trail. It didn't look like it dispersed enough to be a shuttle, but it has the trajectory of being launched into orbit.
I think your camera handiwork was fine given the circumstances.
I'm not going to have some random conspiracy or the government is against us comment to leave. I do agree with cagillette that it doesn't look like anything I've seen, and I have witnessed test missile launches, but usually ones where they are blowing the missile up.
SAY WHAT??!! I had no idea that those countries were having "War Games!" Why has that not been MAJOR news on television?? Russia and Cuba having war games,....that's scary!Thank's for telling us this.
First,I think your camerawork is great! I was in the Marines and I just think this is scary! Why I feel that this is something strange,...I dont know,I just do! I feel that this is so very much more then what meet's our eye's!!God Bless America and thank's for posting this telling video! "Let's keep our eye's looking to and fro!"
Wow. That is interesting. I have heard some speculation that I would rule out - Jet aircraft? No the trajectory is wrong. Cuba? I doubt it given the political implications we would have heard them talking about before hand or afterward.
Model rocket? Unlikey given the apparent height of the launch
Land based test - unlikely as the launch is most likely over the gulf.
sea based test - more probable but why test so close to land? They would not want the visibility or risk
As a native Southern Californian, I've watched evening missile launches from VAFB (publicly announced, and otherwise) for years. This looks nothing like the launches I've seen. Granted, this object (unless I am mistaken) has its origin on or in the sea. If this is the case, it wouldn't look like the large satellite-bearing ICBM launches I've seen; but not only does it travel slowly and lack a mushrooming gas trail, it also is clearly very large, and its arc terminates sub-orbitally. Note shadow.
I have spent time in the military. Like anything else it comes in different flavors and shades of gray. People that have a problem with our military do not understand that the thing that makes a military unit effective and successful is the same thing that makes it unstable. Blind obedience. The military trains its members to follow commands blindly. There is no democracy in the military and no time to have a debate in the middle of a skirmish. That leaves room for a lot of power to go awry.
Yes! Great question! Why have we not at least seen this on "Hannity" or "O'Rielly" is what is most telling of all!Look at all the meaningless and stupid crap the big cable new's channels cover but, something like this,....This should be fairly big new's!!!! There is very little difference between the big three cable news networks! They are all avoiding stuff like this!!!!
That is because their job is to keep you ignorant, uninformed on things that really matter and conditioned to think what they tell you to think and do what they tell you to do. It works well. You are ready to dismiss it because they didn't show it to you or tell you to believe it. Too many of us are following the guy behind the curtain when we don't even know who the guy behind the curtain is.
Russians have the worst technology...their passenger aircraft are horrible... need to put a stand at the rear to keep it from tipping. Dirty, noisy planes.
Watch the *entire* video before making such a stupid comment. You can SEE an OBJECT MOVING. The chemtrail stops, but the object keeps moving, then the chemtrail starts again. if there is a moving OBJECT, it is NOT a cloud structure. Don't bother to reply to this if you don't watch the whole thing. pay close attention at 1 min 5 seconds, and especially 1 min 37 seconds onward
No where in my comments implies that this is a cloud. If you look close you can see that the contrail the craft is leaving is casting a shadow on the bottom of the cirrus clouds, indicating that the crafts altitude is less than 26-40K feet (underneath the cirrus for people that don't understand). I can't make it any simpler.
It looks all black, I dont know any commerical airliners that are all black, except military craft. Also, the craft looks too small for the size of the con-trail? >(5:42)
A Trident II ICBM launched from a submarine has a burn time of 3 minutes. A cruise missile's solid rocket motor only burns for 12 seconds or so and then the jet engine takes over (no smoke trail). So what are we seeing here, the mother of all missle launches? I doubt it. Still the only thing i can find with a burn time this long is the space shuttle due to it's huge external red fuel tank. Anyone who thinks this is a missle please tell me what amazing missle this is.
I watched the you tube video "US Navy SM-3 Missile Intercept a damaged spy satellite". Looking at the white time stamp at the top of the video you can see that it only takes a minute for it to reach space. At that point it looks like a comet do the the gasses expanding outward sidways from the missile rapidly. It looks nothing like what we see here.
Yes, but that depends on a lot. The Attack Angle (How far Downrange they're Firing), Orbital Insertion Location (Where the Target is Located in Orbit), & how far out to Sea the Vessel is located in regards to the Observer. The Horizon at Sea Level is 10 Miles out, so that launch could easily be double, even triple that distance from the observer. The Keys has a vast amount of USN Activity, much of which you'll never know about (I don't mean that offensively).
Also, notice the Multiple Stages (At least 3). There is no doubt that this is a Spacebound Missile. The SM-3's have at least 4 Stages, the Final of Which is used for the Direct Strike.
I am most certain that this is a USN Launched Missile. As to the exact Type, I cannot say with 100% Accuracy, but I do know that there are only a few options in regards to the Vessel which actually launched it. LOL, I love the Negative ratings on my replies, funny how some people bash folks for giving a highly probable, and logical answer. I have experience with the MIL, so I know more about such things than the Average individual. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but it is the truth.
True it "looks" like a missile launch, and I thought so too until the latter half when it just too big, too slow, flying horizontally, and looks like a plane. It is probably a plane at high altitude flying towards the camera. The reason the plume is so large near the horizon is that the wind has had time to blow it wide, making it look, from this POV, like the smoke that gathers at the ground during the first few seconds of a launch.
If you look at the Minotaur Launch video you'll see the burn time is only around 3 and a half minutes. This is about the same time for a minuteman icbm. I'm still curious, does anyone know of a missle with a burn time of over 7 minutes?
I live too close to Key West to take this lightly, especially with Russia hanging out in Venezuela, the Middle East in turmoil and a prediction that Miami is in the sights of TPTB for a 911 like event to whip up the masses so they can join Israel and take out Iran. I just need to know how far away you can see this kind of event.
Videographer, you say..."stop bitching about the steadiness of the video camera"...Newsflash: idiots have to be idiots; it's all they know how to do...insults are an idiot's only intellectual weaponry...so, spending even a second dwelling on their idiotic insults-or trying to defend your position-is a waste; beneath reasonable and curious minds that are trying to make serious sense of our reality...something you obviously care about doing since you brought forth this tape for analysis.
For me, (techman65) has given what I think is the most likely answer so far. The still pic has the smoke Plume coming out of the water on the Horizon, and being a pilot, I know that key west has Restricted zones pilots must keep out of when Hot!. Military Testing Areas.
yea..heres the official explanation....its a missle launch..why is that so hard to believe..its not a flare, its not a ufo, its not santa out on a last minute joy ride, its a missle launch..either from our side, or there side...ITS JUST A MISSLE LAUNCH..GET OVER IT... THEN GET A LIFE ...GEZZZZZ
Looks like a standard missile test firing. I see it about once a year where I live in southern California. If you see it at sunset (or just after) the smoke trails look eerie, but are nothing out of the ordinary.
very nice work, Chewy, I'm trying to determine the compass direction from you to the trail. Not knowing where you were, exactly, did this appear to be coming from southeast where cuba would be? the distance would be consistent with what we see. or was this back towards the u.s. mainland somewhere. thanks.
Being that it originates from the setting Sun,I think it's a safe assumption that it's coming from roughly due-west.Out in the center of the Gulf of Mexico.
Thats messed up. I know there wasn't a shuttle launch that night. And there is a pic of it up on Coast to Coast AM now too. Anybody get an official explanation yet?!?
yes but the flight path of that is too erratic to be a rocket launch from NASA, and cape canavral is too far from the keys in order for someone to observe a shuttle launch. So it's probably a rocket or some type

methinks its too slow...right speed for a cruise missile but not trajectory but to low & slow for a ballistic missile..idk wht it is but i wd prolly lean towards a plane in an illusory set of circumstances giving the appearance of strange performance characteristics it could even be a powerful military jet maintaining subsonic speed, but w adequate available power to perform a sustained steep climb & maneuvers..kudos to u tho for having an open mind & sharp wit im sure dad is

I've seen hundreds of Missile Launches, and this video is ALL WRONG. I'd give my eye teeth to know what that object was.

I was at the Officers club at Sigsbee point 12-31-08. I took pictures of this sunset. I saw the vertical plume and took pictures but it never occured to me it was a missle. There is a U.S. Weather station on Key West, maybe its a weather observation devise.

I lived in San Diego and saw some missle launches like that with a glowing trail left behind for hours.

it don't matter who believes what shit people record, i think it's interesting that people actually are recording that and other things that are up in the sky! how else are we suppose to see, i thank you, also, did you check to see exactually where that smoke came from --friom the ground, i noticed some from your video that alot of smoke was at the bottom -thanks again
billoleary1961 3 years ago

This video looks totally wrong.
pdgls 3 years ago 2
Another clue that this object is not gaining any significant altitude is that the trail gets darker as times goes on. In every sunset launch video or picture i have seen, the top end of the trail is bright white. The end of the trail is bright white because it is the highest part and is reflecting the sunlight that has not had to travel through the atmosphere. This includes launches heading away from the setting sun. The gain in altitued is greater than the travel downrange.

Since its Flordia in all do you think it was
NASA?? a secret NASA experment possible a secret NASA spacecraft expermentel spacecraft?
keys201 3 years ago
You were facing WSW towards sunset. What you saw were contrails (2 of them. one each side). It was a jet aircraft making them. It appeared vertical to you at first because at some point it was heading at you at high altitude (hence the contrails) from over the horizon. You did get one thing right though. It was a beautiful sunset that night and you captured it very well. NOT a Cuban nor a Russian, nor an American missile. Count on it.
Hudgins87 3 years ago
everything that night played a part, the curvature of the earth, the sunset, the right amount of moisture in the air at 33,000ft. and the angle from which the video was shot(maybe). thomas airlines out of cancun, mexico headed for england, departed between 4:30 and 5:00 and would arrive england around 7:00 am the next morning. flying over key west at 33,000ft doing a ground speed of about 590. only aircraft at that alt. within about a thirty mile radius from key west.

It didn't look like it dispersed enough to be a shuttle, but it has the trajectory of being launched into orbit.
insolubletoaster 3 years ago
I think your camera handiwork was fine given the circumstances.
I'm not going to have some random conspiracy or the government is against us comment to leave. I do agree with cagillette that it doesn't look like anything I've seen, and I have witnessed test missile launches, but usually ones where they are blowing the missile up.
Interesting video.

Note shadow.
cagillette 3 years ago
Nope just a Model Rocket.
Work on using the pause button when you pull the cam away from the object.

nadradt, why do you imply its our "slimy criminal governement" why would anyone from
America think of our military that way? Did you ever spend time in our military? or just sit on the sidelines calling us slimy?
If you want to point fingers, Key West is very
close to CUBA and there is your slimy government
kroftkarl 3 years ago 2
I have spent time in the military. Like anything else it comes in different flavors and shades of gray. People that have a problem with our military do not understand that the thing that makes a military unit effective and successful is the same thing that makes it unstable. Blind obedience. The military trains its members to follow commands blindly. There is no democracy in the military and no time to have a debate in the middle of a skirmish. That leaves room for a lot of power to go awry.
UrEyesRWideShut 3 years ago
mmmm, it was probably shot off by Cuba
not the US, we test our missiles far out

burnedpencil 3 years ago 2
Not sure what it is, It was most certainly an object that was launched from the horizon to and area near the shore.
I wonder why I haven't seen it on the national news? Seems if it was from Cuba, it would be a huge international incident.
Also, don't listen to those jerks, they never have anything good to say about anything.
DGray54 3 years ago
44skins 3 years ago
That is because their job is to keep you ignorant, uninformed on things that really matter and conditioned to think what they tell you to think and do what they tell you to do. It works well. You are ready to dismiss it because they didn't show it to you or tell you to believe it. Too many of us are following the guy behind the curtain when we don't even know who the guy behind the curtain is.
UrEyesRWideShut 3 years ago
Dead givaways this is a jet:
1) Line of sight to the horizon is not that far, observers height vs what is being observed
2) 2 condensation trails in video as aircaft gets closer
3) Breaks in contrails
4) Moving to slow when observing visual of actual craft movement detached from contrail
5) SHADOW that contrails cast on bottom of cirrus clouds (26 - 40K ft alt) craft is lower than 26K-40K ft
My observations - Thanks
ibdrumn722 3 years ago

ken2judy 3 years ago
I was on the sunset cruise and i think it was just cloud structure. I have many pics of this also and it was there for over an hour..
ken2judy 3 years ago
Watch the *entire* video before making such a stupid comment. You can SEE an OBJECT MOVING. The chemtrail stops, but the object keeps moving, then the chemtrail starts again. if there is a moving OBJECT, it is NOT a cloud structure. Don't bother to reply to this if you don't watch the whole thing. pay close attention at 1 min 5 seconds, and especially 1 min 37 seconds onward
Storm7773 3 years ago
No where in my comments implies that this is a cloud. If you look close you can see that the contrail the craft is leaving is casting a shadow on the bottom of the cirrus clouds, indicating that the crafts altitude is less than 26-40K feet (underneath the cirrus for people that don't understand). I can't make it any simpler.
Thanks

A Trident II ICBM launched from a submarine has a burn time of 3 minutes. A cruise missile's solid rocket motor only burns for 12 seconds or so and then the jet engine takes over (no smoke trail). So what are we seeing here, the mother of all missle launches? I doubt it. Still the only thing i can find with a burn time this long is the space shuttle due to it's huge external red fuel tank. Anyone who thinks this is a missle please tell me what amazing missle this is.

AEGIS can launch an SM-3 into LEO.
GUMMYBEAYUH 3 years ago
I watched the you tube video "US Navy SM-3 Missile Intercept a damaged spy satellite". Looking at the white time stamp at the top of the video you can see that it only takes a minute for it to reach space. At that point it looks like a comet do the the gasses expanding outward sidways from the missile rapidly. It looks nothing like what we see here.
pdgls 3 years ago
Yes, but that depends on a lot. The Attack Angle (How far Downrange they're Firing), Orbital Insertion Location (Where the Target is Located in Orbit), & how far out to Sea the Vessel is located in regards to the Observer. The Horizon at Sea Level is 10 Miles out, so that launch could easily be double, even triple that distance from the observer. The Keys has a vast amount of USN Activity, much of which you'll never know about (I don't mean that offensively).
GUMMYBEAYUH 3 years ago
Also, notice the Multiple Stages (At least 3). There is no doubt that this is a Spacebound Missile. The SM-3's have at least 4 Stages, the Final of Which is used for the Direct Strike.
GUMMYBEAYUH 3 years ago
are u absolutely sure?!!!!
sluttywhore90 3 years ago
I am most certain that this is a USN Launched Missile. As to the exact Type, I cannot say with 100% Accuracy, but I do know that there are only a few options in regards to the Vessel which actually launched it. LOL, I love the Negative ratings on my replies, funny how some people bash folks for giving a highly probable, and logical answer. I have experience with the MIL, so I know more about such things than the Average individual. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but it is the truth.
GUMMYBEAYUH 3 years ago 3

pdgls 3 years ago

websuspect 3 years ago
I agree, ive seen 22 missle launches, different types. looks like this.
ibanez991 3 years ago 5
True it "looks" like a missile launch, and I thought so too until the latter half when it just too big, too slow, flying horizontally, and looks like a plane. It is probably a plane at high altitude flying towards the camera. The reason the plume is so large near the horizon is that the wind has had time to blow it wide, making it look, from this POV, like the smoke that gathers at the ground during the first few seconds of a launch.
razorlight6 2 years ago
If you look at the Minotaur Launch video you'll see the burn time is only around 3 and a half minutes. This is about the same time for a minuteman icbm. I'm still curious, does anyone know of a missle with a burn time of over 7 minutes?
pdgls 3 years ago 2
My favorite missle launch video is "Minotaur Launch" posted by dearles.
pdgls 3 years ago
I live too close to Key West to take this lightly, especially with Russia hanging out in Venezuela, the Middle East in turmoil and a prediction that Miami is in the sights of TPTB for a 911 like event to whip up the masses so they can join Israel and take out Iran. I just need to know how far away you can see this kind of event.

Russian missle test from Cuba...blackout by US media
haywood16 3 years ago 3
As a former Navy man I can (almost) guarantee you that what you are seeing is indeed a test firing of a missle from a submerged SSN (US submarine).
This occurs quite often in the waters south off of Key West Fl.
Normally it occurs when most folks aren't "awake"..(i.e. early morning hours).
Take that to the bank.
techman65 3 years ago 2
For me, (techman65) has given what I think is the most likely answer so far. The still pic has the smoke Plume coming out of the water on the Horizon, and being a pilot, I know that key west has Restricted zones pilots must keep out of when Hot!. Military Testing Areas.

Wasn't there a space shuttle launch recently? Don't they launch the space shuttle from Florida? Just wondering if anyone suggested this.
chicagosnapshot 3 years ago
yes but the flight path of that is too erratic to be a rocket launch from NASA, and cape canavral is too far from the keys in order for someone to observe a shuttle launch. So it's probably a rocket or some type

no, the cape is located north east of the camera man, this object came from the south west.
