  • @UndergroundKing900 Then why the hell are you watching this?

  • I love this movie I own it , I bought this movie and my daughter and I watch it over and over !

  • This version of 'Cinderella' is the best. It is also superior even to the 1950 animated film. The Prince has a role in this film unlike the animated film and also it has no HARSH or DARK scenes, like the stepsisters tearing apart the dress that the mice made or dark looking palace guards chasing after Cinderella at midnight, which the cartoon had. The step-family accepts the fact that Cinderella ends up with the Prince while in the one in the cartoon seeked revenge in that unecessary third film.

  • @entertainer1987 @Crabbish21 @Sharlamayne - Saying that it was the VERY best is TOTALLY an understatement..lol!

  • @entertainer1987 Take a gander at the original tale some time, it's a lot more gory. I love this version, but it comes across as all fluff and nothing else.

  • Love this version! Haven't seen it in years, but remember seeing it on I think the Disney channel growing up.

  • Ms. Warren is divine--really one of the most sensitive performances in cinema history. Her eyes say it all. She simply IS Cinderella.

  • i gotta say it. i love this version of the step mother. i love the double look @ 2:41

  • I wish someone would upload the whole movie.

  • @ghostlylighthouses You can rent it on Netflix :)

  • LOVE this version too ~ the first one (of Cinderella) I saw as a child!

  • I wish the full version of this was up. I waited every year for this to come on tv. Absolutely love it!

  • i agree, making it as a play and leslie ann warren made this the perfect cinderella

  • Pat Carroll!!! Really just awesome!!

  • This song is one of R and H's finest creations--it creates a scene that SHE knows about but not her sisters--and does so very cleverly. Plus a great rolling melody.

  • I don't think the other Cinderellas have quite caught the pathos and vulnerability that Ms. Warren gives to the character. The emotions are a touch more raw for all the glitter. For that reason alone this version is at the top.

  • Interesting. I remember watching this as a little kid with my mom and sisters and wanting to be Cinderella - or Leslie Ann Warren. Looking at it now, I only wish that I could create such beautiful music as Richard Rodgers did. Funny how your perspective changes.

  • I have a copy on VHS. It's one of my prized possessions.

  • Kudos to her for running that fast in heels; I could never do that lol

  • Best version of Cinderala EVER!!! My Nanna used to put these on when I was a really really little kid and I watched it over and over again, I'm soooo happy I finnlly found it =)

  • I like it, but I can't get the Julie Andrews version of this number out of my head.

  • #glee needs to do this show, all of it. Those kids would rock it. And would introduce this show to those who weren't around when we waited excitedly for this to come on TV each year (during the latter Cretacious period)

  • Gotta love LAW! To be so drastically diverse in some of her roles! From Cinderella to Norma Cassidy! She's one of my all time favorite actresses! Pooooookieeee!

  • @cooldt Is Norma what's her names mother in desparate housewives. They made SUCH a mistake when they canned Ms Warren. Perhaps the actresses were a little jealous that attention was all on LAW?? Bring her back!

  • @windstorm1000 I totally agree..maybe the price was too much and she did steal scenes from teri h...omgggg

  • ....how is this the best version of Cinderella? Look, I know it is dear to your heart and everything, but the acting really stinks. And some of the vocals.

  • @slamminskygurl I think the acting fine.

  • @slamminskygurl - "...how is this the best version of Cinderella? Look, I know it is dear to your heart and everything, but the acting really stinks. And some of the vocals."

You obviously had to be there.. yes, this IS the best version for most all people that lived in the 60's generation and even those that lived decades after..lol! Shoot, I saw this in the mid 80's or so and I think it's the best version... it was made in the early to mid 60's.

  • I <3 Leslie Ann Warren!!!!!!

  • @creativechic92 Me too she's amazing <3

  • Your favorite version of the R&H Cinderella is most likely the one that was popular when you were a kid. I was among thousands of school-aged kids seated in front of their tv's enchanted by lovely 18-year old Lesley Ann when it first aired in 1965.

She will always be my Cinderella!

  • @DanRobSo I wasn't even a twinkle in my mother's eye in 1965. But THIS is my favorite version. I suppose I'm just an old soul then?

  • @DanRobSo Actually, the one that was popular when I was a kid was the cartoon disney version (born in 1990). However, ever since I was little, this one has always been my favorite. I used to dress up in nightgowns and dance with my toys at the ball, dance with Cinderella in the backyard, give the prince his dipperful of water... I must be another old soul that prefers Leslie to Julie, Brandy, or any other actresses who have portrayed this remarkable heroine.

  • This is the very best version of Cinderella.

  • My father dosen't know why I love musicals ,but I can't help it I love them ! I remember playing with my barbies playing cinderella and watching this movie.lol I love the songs!

  • The best version of Cinderella ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • OM! She looks whooped! lol

  • Anyway we can find the very beginning of the movie? What great memories as little girl when it first aired!

  • it looks wonderful and from what i have heard it is the best but were do i find it is there a link on the internet or some were i can rent it ?

  • They did such a beautiful job with this. I love the sincere expressions on their faces. Cindy and Chris forever.

  • Pat Carrol

  • Thank you for your well-worded introduction, describing the importance of this production being on videotape. Ironically this is the way the 1957 broadcast would've looked to those old enough to have actually seen it LIVE, the recorded kinescope being a somewhat crude motion picture film. (It has held up immensely well- this looks like a hi-def DVD.) And, of course, Ms. Warren sparkles throughout this show. I loved that "A Lovely Night" is expanded to allow her to show off her ballet training.

  • Thank you so much for this! This brings back so many memories--I used to live for this to come on television when I was a little girl. Thanks again!

  • no doubt that julie andrews sings the part much better....but leslie was born to play cinderella

  • This IS the very best version of Cinderella. I love, love, love this

version. I know every song by heart.

  • i wanted to marry prince charming...it's all his fault

  • @mlwmiller

I guess he set the bar too high. I'm still waiting.

  • when i come back from a "party" i sing this song!

  • WOW, this brings back memories of when I was a small girl, thank you!!!

  • I have this on VHS haha

  • @dedelovesgreen13 same here

  • I like all versions but I never get tired of watching Drew Barrymor's

  • @lizzapataful Ditto, including this version.

  • This is the very best version of Cinderella.

  • @Crabbish21 AFAIC, this is the ONLY version. When I was young, I had such a crush on her.

  • @Crabbish21 You could not be more right.

  • @Crabbish21 This is the very best version of Cinderella.

  • I love this musical!

  • I love this musical! Check out my channel for my Cinderella tribute video!

By the way, before she started acting, Lesley Ann Warren studied ballet, and it shows in this clip, from the graceful way she dances in the dance break of "A Lovely Night."

  • Thank you SO much for posting this. So so much.
