Good question, I've never seen a 500 produced after 1970 but it's hard to imagine they made 2 different frames in those days due to costs, those were very difficult times for them financially.
nice way to destroy classics..

@puchomoreno Maybe if you wanna restore it, you should buy it. Otherwise stop telling people what to do with things you DONT own.

Ive had a couple of British bikes and mine stored oil on the floor! Happy days though and great bike you got there.

I always thought all English bikes stored the oil in the frame, yet I notice an oil tank on this Triumph. Nice bike- well balanced appearance.

Oil in the frame?
BLARRGMASTER 4 years ago
Oil in frame was from 1971 on, 5 speed tranny came out in 1972. Great bikes!
Motorat88 4 years ago
is this true on the 500s too? i read that about the 650s, didn't know if it carried over to the 500s.

1971-1972 500cc's are NOT oil-in-frame models.

This is a brilliant looking example ,it sits perfectly. Please advise me if known ,how much stretch/lower has gone into the hardtail.
