Great work of rarely taught concept of the center-line vs. the central-line. With the emphasis being the the central-line. Nice fresh perspectives. Excellent.
Another one who likes boxing with wing chun : ) yep! go together well,Thanks for all the great videos you have uploaded sifu - i guess i can call you that lol - since i'm learning what i can of you over the net, much appreciate it.
@sifupr No I dont, never been there. I knew him on a what's up bases when I see him at the fights. I know more of todyas fighters up and coming. Like Lou Collazo. Gary Starks, Peter Quillin, Orlando Del Valle, Mellisa Hernandez. I love boxing and WC.. Mix them together and you got a good combo. Alot of people dont know that boxers use WC without knowing it. Like a perry and jab is similar to a pak sao.
@sifupr Cool. So they must be tuff. Not afraid to get hit and train hard. Most Wc school punch air or just chi sao. Most don't know the real value of sparring. I like WC a lot mixes well with boxing. But certain things you cant use.
In other lineages of Wing Chun, people are taught to shift on their heels to absorb force. I notice that in your lineage, you like to completely step off the line. Both methods give you a better angle, but stepping off seems to work a bit better. Do you ever shift while remaining like in other lineages or do you always recommend stepping off line?
Due to this, an opponent will make his distance based on were the hands are set. If the hands are set closer to an opponents body, their distance is closer. When the hands are out front of a person say a foot, which is normal for Wing Chung, the opponents perception of distance will be further away.
To answer the question about the uppercut, and being so far away in this video. For me, this is how I see it. Wing Chun does not have the boxing stance were the hands are kept close to the face. We tend to have our hands out further in front of us.
Great video. I enjoy seeing the practical application of a style being used. I am pleased that you are not so much of a stickler like some schools on what they perceive to be traditional that the main point of the practical aspect of the style is not lost. When schools do get too focused on what they perceive as traditional, I see them actually stepping away from traditional aspects of the style. Were your way, I perceive as more traditional.
Care for some constructive criticism? In my opinion you're creating arm-arm-contact far to close to your hand. There's much more power in using your forearm close to the elbow, and it takes you into more realistic striking distances. And leaves your hand free for the actual striking.

@garouHH Thanks for your comment. Since our students compete we use what helps us win in full contact events.
