My platoon at AIT double-timed to a variant of this cadence. Even when I was so tired, I couldn't help but continue to double-time when the platoon sounded off with said cadence (I'm not super-athletic, but I'm healthy)

@MountainMan323 Requirements? Clean criminal record, high school diploma, and an acceptable ASVAB score (I believe somewhere around 40 now). Also, work hard on your PT. Push-ups, sit-ups, RUNNING. Now to "make" it in the Army? That's up to you and how much effort you want to put in. It's a great lifestyle and the Army is the best place to be in times like these.
@caiochammas Army has 12-15 month deployements while The Marines are 7-9. Army has better Careers that can fit everybody. Army has Delta Force, Army Rangers, Special Combat Divers. Army is the oldest branch. The 4th infantry division was the first one in to invade Iraq. Special Forces was in Afghanistan few weeks after 9/11.Army has better Technollogy than the Marines which makes us safer. No conventional forces is ever the "tip of the spear" There was always someone there before them. However, when large conventional assaults on enemy territory is required, its Army Infantry divisions that do the brunt of the work, while Marines tag along. Look at the 2003 blitzkrieg of Iraq. Army had the heavy armor and heavy Infantry to do the job, as well as the speedy light infantry to lead the way, AND the SOF to be there first.

As I have said before...WE ARE NOT AN OCCUPYING FORCE...of course the Army will be in a warzone longer that is the purpose of ANY army...is the Navy in warzones? at times yes but they dont occupy its not their job...they rule the sea...same for the Airforce they rule the skies...if you need more info on how our military works ask...dont talk out of your ass as far as us going in first i wasnt at each war so tbh i dont know...we are a force in readiness we can deploy in a heartbeat to anywhere

I do have a very high ego...but saying Marines are the big boys isnt egotistical its stating fact...if there where a recruiter poster up for all the branches this is how it would read... coast guard very very easy...airforce very easy...navy easy...army mediorce....MARINES caution this branch isnt for the weak hearted or minded...they are the tip of the spear...they put the warfighter in the word "WARFIGHTER"

No conventional forces is ever the "tip of the spear" There was always someone there before them. However, when large conventional assaults on enemy territory is required, its Army Infantry divisions that do the brunt of the work, while Marines tag along. Look at the 2003 blitzkrieg of Iraq. Army had the heavy armor and heavy Infantry to do the job, as well as the speedy light infantry to lead the way, AND the SOF to be there first.
