garageband66 I did find the video that I recorded in 2003 of the The Bleus. I had forgotten to charge the battery and only got about 45 seconds of stop and go video. The quality isn't very good along with the bad camera work.
Nice job on the video. I had a great experience with the band sitting in on some of the practices during high school, when my dad would let go off in the old 57 Dodge. I am a big fan and old friend of Larry. He was an inspiration to me to learn music. The band was a unique group that should have gone national had things fallen in place for them. I wish we had video when they played in clubs and other venues. Rock on!
@garageband66 I did make a very short video of "The Bleus" in Rainbow City, Alabama a couple of years ago when they reunited for a short time. They played several songs one in particular was Black Magic Woman and they really put on a show. I'm going to see if I can find the vid maybe post it.
Takes me back to the days of 1350 WGAD , Leon Tilley, King Wiggins and Gadsden's own Bleus "by request". It was around 1966-67 ...and I also recall a Bleus version of "Stubborn Kinda Fellow" and "It's Alright" (You're Just In Love) ..which got a lot of local air play. Good stuff!
The Bleus were a relly good band in the late 60s from Gadsden, AL. Lead singer was Tony Lumpkin, a good singer and great guy. I had some classes with Tony at Gadsden State. Think he became an architect. Brings back old memories. Thanks!
