this game is much faster than SS but not like GGXX, but not much ppl playing it so ppl may find hard to play it well. search for japanese VS match movie to know more about this game, this game is fun
there are people that "aren't aware" of all of the cool games that are available for different systems. There is a perceived notion that because the Dreamcast had a short lifespan, the games must blow. The truth of the matter is that the Dreamcast caters to hardcore gamers, by providing excellent 2D fighters, along with arcade ports and other games. It is amazing how many excellent games were produced for the Dreamcast despite it's short "lifespan". The games are inexpensive/overlooked today.
@parasites84 so true. thats why I just had to have the dreamcast before the playsstation2. Dreamcast had the street fighter IIIs...arcade perfect marvelvs capcom..powerstone. the hardcore japanese stuff I knew playstation2 wouldn't get
I just picked this up for Dreamcast I really love this game, even though i played a bit its turning out to be one of my favorite fighting games from SNK. I wonder how this game is compared to the 1st and even the original Neo Geo version
The Original Neo-Geo game is great but this Dreamcast port is terrible, it has slowdown and runs slower in general, the PS2 version isn't much better neither.
Not to mention the soundtrack is EXACTLY THE SAME, kind of disappointing for a Dreamcast port, even the Neo Geo CD had arranged soundtracks for its entire library, the Dreamcast, being superior should have that without much problem, maybe because of the sound chip?
No man, it's not bad at all. If you can't pick up the one for the Neo Geo then this is second best. Pick it up, I know you're into fighters so you'll like this one for sure.

@Llanowar It's really completely different, in style, flow and atmosphere. They have nothing in common besides both being 2D weapon fighters.

I've noticed this alot with SNK's fighters...
Some are just plain cheap like Samurai Shodown 3 but most are really skillful and fun to fight against the computer ^_^
Even when I get my ass handed to me it's just amazing:p

I had one dreamcast but I loaned my cousin pro but it ruined tou with anger of it until today, now I only have the games the controls and vmu.
