  • @loyesj The twin battles of Jena and Auerstedt (older name: Auerstädt) were fought on 14 October 1806 on the plateau west of the river Saale in today's Germany, between the forces of Napoleon I of France and Frederick William III of Prussia. The decisive defeat suffered by the Prussian Army subjugated the Kingdom of Prussia to the French Empire until the Sixth Coalition was formed in 1812.

  • @loyesj The Battle of Austerlitz, also known as the Battle of the Three Emperors, was one of Napoleon's greatest victories, where the French Empire effectively crushed the Third Coalition. On 2 December 1805 (20 November Old Style, 11 Frimaire, XIV, in the French Republican Calendar), a French army, commanded by Emperor Napoleon I, decisively defeated a Russo-Austrian army, after nearly nine hours of difficult fighting. The battle is often regarded as a tactical masterpiece.

  • The Battle of Patay (18 June 1429) was the culminating engagement of the Loire Campaign of the Hundred Years' War between the French and English in north-central France. It was a decisive victory for the French and turned the tide of the war. This victory was to the French what Agincourt was to the English. Although credited to Joan of Arc, most of the fighting took place at the vanguard of the French army and the battle was over before the main body could arrive.

  • The Battle of Castillon of 1453 was the last battle fought between the French and the English during the Hundred Years' War. This was the first battle in European history where cannon were a major factor in deciding the battle.. 17 July 1453

    Location Castillon-la-Bataille, Gascony

    Result Decisive French victory

  • @loyesj The Battle of Hastings took place on 14 October 1066. It was the decisive Norman victory in the Norman conquest of England, fought between the Norman-French army of Duke William II of Normandy and the Anglo-Saxon army of King Harold II The battle marked the last time a foreign invasion of the British Isles had been successful.

  • @loyesj The Battle of Tours (October 10, 732), also called the Battle of Poitiers and in Arabic: معركة بلاط الشهداء‎ (ma‘arakat Balâṭ ash-Shuhadâ) Battle of Court of the Martyrs, was fought in an area between the cities of Poitiers and Tours, located in north-central France, near the village of Moussais-la-Bataille, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) northeast of Poitiers. The location of the battle was close to the border between the Frankish realm and then-independent Aquitaine

  • . The battle pitted Frankish and Burgundian forces under Austrasian Mayor of the Palace Charles Martel, against an army of the Umayyad Caliphate led by ‘Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi, Governor-General of al-Andalus.

  • @loyesj . The Franks were victorious, ‘Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi was killed, and Charles subsequently extended his authority in the south.

  • Ninth-century chroniclers, who interpreted the outcome of the battle as divine judgment in his favour, gave Charles the nickname Martellus ("The Hammer"), possibly recalling Judas Maccabeus ("The Hammerer") of the Maccabean revolt. Details of the battle, including its exact location and the exact number of combatants, cannot be determined from accounts that have survived. Notably, the Frankish troops won the battle without cavalry.

  • @loyesj my god that sounds like southern cuisine.. squeal squeal like a piggy squeeel

  • But how would an anarchist society embrace globalization? say the government is done away with and it's a perfect socialist society, not realistic but anyways, I've heard people say that there would be no money in a society like this, and I guess there wouldn't be, so how would international trade work? and without a government, do think an anarchist society would still have representatives of sorts to interact with other world leaders, or participate in things like the UN?

  • Dr. Chomsky recently told Iranian TV that at the time the USA attacked Afghanistan they had no evidence that al Qaeda did 9/11. See my video "Chomsky on Faith-based Wars and 9/11"

  • question about communism/anarchism, is it in opposition to entrepeneurism and free trade? is a communist/anarchist band, such as The Coup or Propagandhi, that sells albums in a capitilist society hypocritical?

  • Hey Guy Can i Copy it and put the subtitle in Thai ?

  • cool song! Cheers comrade

  • Hey.

First of all, thank you for this great job, these videos are short, but educating and inspiring. I call myself an anarchist, and me and a friend are doing a fanzine, inspired by these videos. It is short lessons about anarchism in every number. I have one question though, that i have asked myself many times, and also heard from the people i discusse with.

    1. How does hospitals in a anarchist-society work?

    2. How does the education work?

Thank you, i would really appriciate answers!

  • isn't the message slightly more important than the font it employs?

  • Humans always need something in return for their services. A truly egalitarian society is impossible. Scientists and researchers that would expand our growth for knowledge should have incentives so they would keep working. This is the ONLY problem I see with Anarchism what would the scientists work for? if not money what? They wouldn't work for the community unless they get something more then a factory worker.

  • The only thing that makes it impossible is your belief that it is not possible. I would wager that if you asked scientists who have great accomplishments, (ie Tesla, Einstein, etc), why they pursued the accomplishment, almost none would answer it was for money. In fact, they probably have a more personal and humanitarian reason, especially those involved in medical breakthroughs. What they receive is worth more than money, and they would do it because they choose to.

  • @FreemarketSocialist interesting screen name, lets be friends!

  • @freebird199 "Humans always need something in return for their services." Correction, humans TODAY always SEEM to need something in return for their services..

" This is the ONLY problem I see with Anarchism what would the scientists work for? if not money what? They wouldn't work for the community unless they get something more then a factory worker. " Money isn't essential, the only incentive the factory worker or scientist would have is love in what they do, or love for the community.

  • If a small elite own most of the world's wealth then there's a vast amount of resources available for everyone. People would get more under anarchy than corporate capitalism

  • I'm new to anarchism, and I was wondering what would happen to the CEO's and the cops and such. Would we kill them like the French did to the aristocrats in the French revolution?

  • We don't want to kill anyone, as most of us believe this is unnecessary to remove them from power.

Murder also happens to go against everything most anarchists believe in, which is freedom.

No, killing them won't do. It would only lend weighed to their cause. Removing them from power is the priority.

    just my 2 cents

  • well said my friend

  • @CollumBrian I agree with you, brother...

  • The CEO's would probably run away to others capitalist countries but some will stay and they will be integrated into society. Money would be worthless and therefore doctors, teachers, workers do what they do best to benefit the society. They (the cops, and the elite) would have to contribute to society or would be punished but not jailed because we believe a prison is a cage for soul.

  • it's pretty annoying/distracting that the beginnig of the sentence is written like a title, and the ending is written like a sub-title below..

really, it's not pleasant to read :/

(and comic sans also sucks :P)

  • hail to you comrade

  • Good video. I resisted at the "duty" comments, however. Isn't that "forcing" your comments on others? Why not be a role model and let others come to you by their own choice? NOTE: You mentionned in other vids you are a teacher. I suppose past experience/background has shown you that people are too passive and easily distracted in shaping their lives. If this is the case, then I retract my "force" comments. I have no background in teaching, btw. You are the expert here. :)

  • thanks so much for these vids. i had a pretty much no knowledge of anarchism before watching them, and know i am much more informed. thanks for reccomending the anarchist FAQ as well. its pretty long, but very informative.

    solidarity!

  • i'm pretty new to anarchism, could someone explain how to prevent the big muscled people looting and robbing smart little people like us without resulting in inequality? i hope you know what i mean.

  • Guns are the great equalizer, my friend. And besides, big muscled ppl only make a minority of the human race while us regular guys make up the majority; so as long as we have the will and the incentive we can prevent looting, disorder, and feudalism.

  • I'm a fan of becoming one of the big muscled people yourself, we need more badass intellectuals. Most forms of anarchism involve economic reform involving a change in the nature of property itself (I think that an earlier video in this series covered this actually), eliminating much of the incentive for theft.

  • But as long as there's still "possesion" (like a watch or a car) there could still be theft.

  • possesion is something to discuss about and i have doubts about the meanings it may take

  • But why would you steal one, when you can just come on downtown and get one. Even if someone did steal it, then you can just go get another.

  • The only point i agree with here, (but very much so) is that as long as "the majority...have the will and the incentive we can prevent looting, disorder, and feudalism:"

It has become obvious that there will be separate communities. Those that choose to co-operate in a new system of volunteerism. And the others that choose to continue to compete with each other, forcing some down while elevating others.

  • Keep up the good work !

  • Okay!

  • I look forward to the "new and improved" vids. (I liked the other ones just fine as well though.) Thanx and solidarity.
